Classic mainstream reporting indeed, of course ya can't expect much from the average journalist these days. If they were worth their salt, they'd realize that going forward businesses will be able to offer discounts (RE: coupons to most people) for using BTC as the payment method. Sooooo...the question should've been:

Would you use BTC to get 2-5% off the store price of said good? Guaranteed that a majority would be willing to do so w/o even thinking any further about the situation. Damn near every woman has a store discount card on their keychain, fact.

Have you used, or would you use, Bitcoin?

No       2278    (96 %)

Good point it sort of reflects Bitcoins current user demographic where there is a small but dedicated user base and the mainstream usage is still a ways off.

The adoption is getting there though but slowly but surely is still progress Smiley

A number of businesses are starting to adopt a digital currency that eliminates the need for a central bank but would you feel comfortable buying and using the virtual currency to make purchases?

CTV Calgary Consumer Watch Specialist Lea Williams-Doherty talked to the experts and says bitcoin is really just a complex computer program run by thousands of anonymous individuals called bitcoin miners.

"Who knows where it came from. It's not really that relevant because now that it's out there in the wild it's controlled by the community,” said Dave Bradley, from Bitcoin Brains.
