Bitcoin has a long way to go. Right now, it remains a hobby for wealthy members of the tech jet set with only a few obscure retailers like Overstock.com accepting it as payment.

Brian Kelly, investor and contributor to CNBC's "Fast Money." Kelly says the transformation is as near as a decade away.

I guess Bitcoin has already moved beyond tech people. While Bitcoin's boom years might still be ahead of us, I sure hope it doesn't take a decade. Bitcoin has shown its power to transform the financial world and I guess banks/institutions will wake up to Bitcoin sooner than later.
