My guess is that Bitpay will have some type of Microsoft promo at the "Bitcoin Bowl"... this will be the coming out party for educating the public.

I was thinking the same thing, not living in the US. However, then I read this:

Sounds like this is really just the first step as part of a larger move by MS, and all they could manage to get in place before Christmas (and good for them that they did - they still made it happen quite quickly!)

I think we are getting very close to a critical mass point where more and more companies will start to accept Bitcoin.
At least one of the big IT companies is accepting bitcoin.

It's a clever move for Microsoft from a business point of view. It is easier for young gamers to get bitcoin than have a credit card for online payments. It is still encouraging news for bitcoin.
