Bitcoin: The People's Bailout
A Fedcoin would make it easier to convert fiat to sound, honest, money like Bitcoin.  That would be nice, but not something they're going to be interested in.

The US to adopt btc and make own currency would be a BTC mans wet dream come true would sky rocket prices and to do such a thing their not enough BTC out theri to do such amounts of transactions well maybe but payments would have to be stupidly small like and price high enough to support the demands and like 0.00000001 BTC to the $0.01 would be insane to be valued at that but market cap and prices would need to go up by a shit turn for it to happen and government's to approve it for 100% mainstream and public use and that is not going to happy any time soon.

The government already made a digital currency. In fact, they made the perfect digital currency that we all know and love, bitcoin. They'll tell you about it later, as usual.

Not too much new here other than the timing.

I'm sure it will move as fast as the Canadian mint chip idea...

Quote
The Canadians eventually shelved their MintChip dreams, but the rise of digital currencies seems inevitable.

Perhaps timing will change the situation, but it remains to be seen.

Instead of Fighting Bitcoin, the US Could Make Its Own Digital Currency

The US government has been seriously studying bitcoin for about two years now. The FBI knows how to seize the digital currency. The Marshal’s Service knows how to sell it. The IRS knows how to tax it. And now, the Federal Reserve should copy it.
