The author obviously has no clue.

Exactly, bitcoin is not a stock!

Sure the price is down, and I think the one statement about "depends on who you ask" is a fair way to put it.

Some people have gotten a wash, while others have just discovered this new technology and are having a great time.

I'm excited to see in 2015 how the Mtgox fiasco is settled, and to see more of this venture capital bring solutions to the market... oh and to see what new things I'll be able to spend my bitcoins on locally!

Author fails to point out that price didn't "tumble", it had corrected after a Willy bot created an artificial valuation.

I hate it when my bitcoin "stock" price tumbles Tongue

1bitcoin still is worth 1bitcoin right? People need to see the bigger picture in bitcoin and not focus or fixate on it's current value right now. It's real value will become apparent in the near future I believe.

Can fiat survive 2015? The Ruble doesn't seem to be doing very well right now. Plenty of stocks have lost a lot of value recently too. I believe Tesco is down over 50%.

Controversial title. Author fixates on the price. Here we go again:

By now, you're probably aware bitcoin's stock has continued to tumble since its peak heyday in 2013 when it was valued at more than $1,100. It's now hovering at around $330 and has dropped more than 50 percent since the beginning of the year.

It lead at least one business writer to label the controversial digital currency the "worst investment of 2014" and "atrociously awful" even when compared to other struggling fiat currencies such as Russia's ruble.

But, despite the stock's poor performance this year, more and more powerful merchants have started allowing customers to use bitcoin for purchases.

So, bottom line, is it a thumbs up or thumbs down for bitcoin moving into the new year? Well, it depends who you ask, really.
