TBH - the reason I left Morgan Stanley for Factom is that I thought I could make an impact in the space by helping Factom define a professional treasury operation.  I'm working with some other in the space to put together a white paper outlining the process.  It will be posted to GitHub when it's done.

Well - that and the fact that I think Factom has a great product and a great team.

Is anyone else noticing a weird exodus of banking employees to Bitcoin companies lately? I wonder if they're seeing the wind change, these guys are pretty mercenary after all.

Banks are more ruthless than bankers. If the wind really is changing, we will see financial institutions getting involved big time in Bitcoin.

Question becomes if they are leaving banking companies for the technology that they think will be the ultimate winner in transactions or are these new bitcoin startups simply paying the banking employees more to have them on their own staff to boost their financial merit and appearance.

Factom, a bitcoin technology company, has hired Morgan Stanley investment manager Jacob Dienelt as its head treasurer, the company said on Monday.

Dienelt co-founded the paper bitcoin wallet company Lazzerbee while working at Morgan Stanley, where he had been for almost a decade. He most recently managed a team of futures specialists in the bank's private wealth business.
