Good luck with it. The Hearndresen-fork doesn't have a chance, if it fails to reach a supermajority. So if you want to hold an altcoin, go with XT.

I think anybody that listens to the arguments of Maxwell, Todd, and Garzik will understand that raising the max_blocksize 20-fold is not a real solution to scalability and has serious downsides. The alarmist FUD that Gavin and (to an even greater extent) Mike spread about blocks getting filled is unwarranted. Bitcoin will not break, only fees may rise and spam transactions might be no longer viable. There will be more than enough time to implement a change then.

I won't support XT. Never. I stay with the Core value: Decentralization. Apart from that, real solutions for microtransactions are in the works.
