there are so many videos on youtube about Bitcoin and how to use it. And a student gets accused ... ? okay

He got arrested because:

1. He was in direct communication with many of the ISIS leaders and militiamen in Iraq and Syria.
2. He encouraged his friend (Reza Niknejad) to join the ISIS, and provided the necessary support for him to travel to Syria.
3. He had a twitter account with some 4,000 followers. He used this account to spread ISIS propaganda.

The trend of Bitcoin and ISIS currently being relevant in the exact same story continues as Ali Shukri Amin, a higher school pupil from Virginia, pleaded guilty Thursday for, between other items, teaching ISIS supporters how to use the popular crypto-currency Bitcoin. Ali Shukri Amin of Alexandria, Virginia, pleaded guilty Thursday in federal court to providing material.

The question arises in my head what profit for him admit that he is engaging in ISIS  Huh

He entered in to a plea bargain, in order to reduce the quantum of the punishment. With all the evidence against him, refuting the charges will not do him any good. He would have got 30 years in prison to life, without a plea bargain. Now, as he has entered in to a plea bargain, he can expect less than 15 years, with a possibility for parole in 6 to 7 years time.

For me, the story sounds a little bit odd. On the one hand, isis has a group of hackers which entered some systems like a french television station some months ago. On the other hand, they should need a student to get to know how Bitcoin works?
