0.1btc to write a message on the blockchain is expensive for a "transaction" which only costs 0.0001btc. I think they should give examples of such messages already on the blockchain and ways to decode them for the layman. Once people know the "message" is not actually in plaintext and difficult to decode, most people wouldn't bother.

Something quite a bit controversial... Putting messages in the blockchain can be interesting: it allows us to timestamp files for future proof. But it also opens the door to a lot of spam Smiley

A poll would be interesting...

A great innovation, but I do not see a particular advantage obtained by writing in blockchain  Undecided

Thanks, I edited the link. I usually read the news on Coinyoo news accumulator.

Guess I'll need to have a chat with them, I don't mind them publishing the content, but no direct linkback is just not acceptable Smiley

Most of us are well aware the blockchain can be used for virtually anything, and not all of those purposes have to be technological or financial in nature. Transfer of ownership of both tangible and virtual goods is one option, but BTCChina has come up with something else that might pique your interest. Have you ever wanted to imprint a message in the Bitcoin blockchain?
