About 1.5 years ago, many people were having panic attacks because "China is banning Bitcoin!!", and now there is concern that one of the biggest BTC exchanges (based in China) is having network issues?
Well...
At least we know that China didn't ban Bitcoin!

but Im not sure bitcoin will be legal in china,

Reassuring news Smiley Bitcoin does not need more bad news regarding hacking after MtGox some time ago or scrypt.cc yesterday.

So finally they are back online. Here is the official announcement:

I was thinking that someone might have doxxed them, to steal the coins. Thankfully, at least in this case it doesn't seems so. So as of now, the coins belonging to the users are safe.  Grin

The bitcoin trading system OKCoin is presently down and also has actually been for greater than 12 hrs according to a reddit customer. When seeing OKCoin.com you will receive a Cloudflare error as viewed here: There has been reports declaring that the servers OKCoin usages are going through Emergency Maintenance as a result of problems induced by server disturbances.

Hopefull it's nothing major on their end and nothing has been compromised or stolen, but I wonder how long it is before another big exchanges coins go missing. Decentralized ones can't come soon enough.

Just tried to login to Okcoin, and can't do so, as the site is down. I just hope that everyone's coins are safe. I had only a few mBTC there, so personally I don't care whether my coins are there or not. Okcoin was involved in a number of scandals (contract dispute.etc) over the past few months... and it seems that someone tried to dox it, as a retaliation.
