just to clarify (some of us do have sources within the banks that other "journalists" write about):

- BNP Paribas is not planning to work with Bitcoin itself until EU regulation is put in place
- BNP Paribas IS looking at blockchain technology for an undisclosed project
- ETA is unknown atm, but could be as soon as end of the year (unconfirmed)

Nevertheless, BNP Paribas seems very interested in Bitcoin and blockchain technology. This is 3rd or 4th time that they are mentioned in the connection with Bitcoin in the last few weeks. This can't but show us that we are headed in the right direction.

I believe those bastards are more intersted in "Blockchain technology".God I hate that term.
I hardly believe any Bank is willing to work with the Bitcoin Blockchain or Bitcoin in general. But let's wait and see what future will bring us.

BNP Paribas Planning to Add Bitcoin to Currency Funds After Successful Beta Test

France’s biggest bank BNP Paribas is reportedly planning to add bitcoin to one of its currency funds, a source at the bank told International Business Times UK.

Good to see that they are actually testing the waters. There have been a lot of articles about BNP and Soc Gen exploring bitcoin's potential in the last few weeks.
I doubt if there will be a lot of demand just because a fund invests in bitcoin, but let us see how it plays out.

Banks should take bitcoin seriously. It not a commodity any more. It has become more like a currency. Bitcoin is set to shake the grounds of the remittance industry and BNP is wise to see that before other banks. The way how bitcoin is growing, we could see it's exchange rate quoted among other world currencies in financial news.
