After facing a fair amount of backlash over the past few months, Uber has [finally] decided to revamp their driver app. The main goal of this decision is improving driver earnings, as well as improve rider satisfaction. Furthermore, the updated Partner app will now display more valuable information for drivers to make more money while driving people around.

Was Bitcoin integration even promised by Uber?

What every driver can do independently is accepting Bitcoin tips. Simply place visible QR codes at the back of the front seats and next to the instrument panel and you're done. Maybe doing so could also generate extra income free of Uber commissions, when fellow Bitcoiners call you for a ride because they know you accept BTC.

In my opinion the business model of Uber won't work in the long run. There will be fierce competition from low-fee or even free alternatives that will quickly attain endorsement by drivers and passengers alike.

Yes, it is not cool really... But I like that there are some nice promos available online at https://ubergo.co/ which can help you reduce the price for the ride. But I want the Bitcoin option much more, honestly
