It is a pity that BitPesa are not getting the traction it deserves. I saw this topic on Reddit last night --> https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/3rhfjh/hacker_in_africa_codes_bitcoin_to_mpesa_bot_i_had/

I never considered the legal implications, if he made the bot public, so thanks for that OP. It would be nice if they could work with him to make it legal. The people in Africa needs

a decentralized solution and I doubt if M-Pesa is the solution on it's own. A collaboration could link a established market with a more secure and robust network {Blockchain}

I do not want to send money to a charity and pay fee's on the donation.... I want to send it directly to a person and pay nearly zero fees.  Roll Eyes

Most people who have been active in the Bitcoin world for a while now will remember a company called BitPesa. Similar to how M-Pesa offers remittance services to Kenyans, BitPesa would do the same but based entirely on Bitcoin. Unfortunately, BitPesa never made as big of a splash as the company would have wanted, but Bitcoin’s story in the Kenyan remittance business is far from over.
