Yep, btc is huge for gambling and if all else fails with it, at least people are going to want to gamble semi-anonymously which means bitcoin won't die.  Hopefully.  I agree, it is kind of a match made in heaven...

Along with anonymity, you have that gambling may be illegal in some jurisdictions.
Unfortunately, governments cannot implement such bans when bitcoin is used.

Well, they got their dates wrong. Smiley
Bitcoin is a natural fit for anything done online. I am surprised that it has taken so long for online gaming involving bitcoin to gain traction.

Yes, this might be, but it comes with a some higher risk for the users... because many of these gambling sites are not regulated. It also allows for minors to enter the gambling

scene and no protection for people with gambling addiction problems. The regulated gambling operations have to adhere to some strict regulations to protect some of their

players... On the other side, big operators tend to push out the smaller competitors in the regulated environment and that is also not good for everyone. We all know how much

palms are greased to guarantee licensing... and the smaller operations cannot compete with that... Bitcoin allow them to enter the field, on a more level playing field.  Roll Eyes

Young but I'm not that bold
- Why bitcoins are big news for online gaming

Bitcoins are big business. In the past few years, they have grown from an innovative experiment to a fully-fledged online currency with a mission to make transferring money online easy and quick, with proponents of the idea including Bill Gates and former US vice-president Al Gore. The idea for bitcoin was first circulated in 2010. The aim was to design a currency independent of real-world authorities which could instantly be transferred electronically, without the worry of high transaction fees.

One industry that hasn’t failed to notice the boom in online currency is the online gambling sector, with many sites capitalising on the rush, and cryptocurrency-based casino sites are becoming more and more common each year.
