As of today, what's a good mixing service for BTC? I buy my coins from coinbase and once in awhile i sell them to my friends that doesn't want to deal with setting up on coinbase. Just to be safe, I don't know what they buy and don't care. But I heard reports that coinbase monitors where your coins go so I don't want to get in trouble if someone decides to buy stuff on the dark market.

Whats the best course of action? Mix my coins? or something else?

If you don't want Coinbase to see where your coins go to then don't use them for first time sending. Withdraw all your BTC from Coinbase to your Bitcoin Core (or Electrum, Multibit, whichever you prefer).
After that you can use other exchanges to deposit and withdraw your coins. Once coins goes to another exchanges hot wallet Coinbase can't trace you.

There are some ways for mixing your coins and it's all the best way:
1.) use bitmixer.io
2.) use Darkcoin
3.) use Dashcoin

As we wait for emerging cryptocurrencies such as Darkcoin and the standardisation of Dark Wallet the current task of coin-mixing remains an immediate issue. As it stands Bitcoin Fog remains the gold standard of coin-mixing. However, it is important that people be made away that this is a slow process. Bitcoin Fog insist on six confirmations for deposits and will set a minimum delay of six hours for withdrawals to occur to held randomise/ anonymise the process. This is a sound process for those approaching their transactions in a structured and planned manner. It is not ideal for anyone trying to get money quickly from one account to another.
The acceptance of Bitcoin is much higher than darkcoin and Bitcoin has less volatility than darkcoin. This is a big plus as people won't be as scared to invest into Bitcoins. Bitcoin Fog isn't exactly the best. I would recommend using Bitmixer.io. They offer low fees and high liquidity. They allow 0 wait time but it would definitely not be as anonymous than delay.

JoinMarket ( https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-joinmarket-coinjoin-that-people-will-actually-use-919116 ) is a peer mixing tool. Surprised it hasn't been mentioned. Though I still agree BitMixer is the best service per se.

Another vote for Bitmixer.io. It's the most widely know bitcoin mixer when you're trusting someone to handle your coin, you should go with the people that have been doing it the longest, that have the best reputation, that have the most to lose if they fuck it up.

Good luck with your pay-for-shuffling!

I am using blockchain but you can use currency exchange to buy bitcoin but i would recommend bitmixer.
There are a couple of services available, others are bound to post a list of them here.

The one I like the most is Bit Mixer [https://bitmixer.io/] because of the way they handle the mixing process.

Yes I agree with you.  Bitmixer is the best one.

Bitmixer.io  works pretty well and so far there hasn't been any complaints from anyone, so I guess it can be assumed that it is safe for now.

Bitmixer. Reason being the features.
1) Birmixer allows the coins to be split into different parts. You can split the mixed coin to send to different addresses. It's quite useful when you don't want any links between your addressses.
2) Time wait. You can set a delay in your mixing and your coins won't be transferred immediately. This reduces the link between accounts due to the fact that people would think that two accounts are related to each other when both send and receive the money nearly simultaneously.
