They're going to be disappointed, I think. They'll be a bit late to the party by the time they get their interledger doo-dah up and running. Automated Transactions (AT) will be integrated with Bitcoin before then and we'll be able to trade between any other currency supporting AT without trusting a third party.

I think bitcoin should unite with Monero or Dash, the later 2 is anonymous while the bitcoin is not truely anonymous.
