Xapo already pissed off most faucet users and now they want to support a controversial option again. Implementations like this has a minority support at the moment and they just going to piss off some more people. It looks like merchants and exchanges with bigger expansion plans, wants to scale quickly and they think SegWit will not allow them to do that.

They see other implementations like the Lightning network as a threat to their business model and the fees they can charge onto their services. No wonder they supporting Bitcoin Classic, because it means more money in their pockets.

On February 21, 2016, popular bitcoin wallet platform and vault solutions provider Xapo CEO Wences Casares announced that the company is planning to upgrade to Bitcoin Classic, with a vision to help the Bitcoin network scale efficiently.
