What would the economic or political impact of his decision be? These people always have a hidden agenda, and if it hurts their pockets, they will reject it. They have been Gavin supporters since the days when Gavin were Lead developer, so it might just be a loyalist supporting a friend.

I do not trust Coinbase because their thinking is backed by profit margins and not what might be beneficial to the community.
