The Sun Exchange has come a long way since hosting it's first project in Stellenbosch, South Africa. To date they have hosted four projects and are currently hosting their fifth! All the projects can be viewed here: https://thesunexchange.com/se-projects

You can view loads of videos from the Sun Exchange here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCcGD8jnbPh5XZuEpzDe-Etg

The Sun Exchange has recently launched an ICO for their token SUNEX. The function of the token SUNEX is three fold.

Firstly, SUNEX tokens are stakeable into the worlds first Solar Project Insurance Fund (SPIF). This unique token staking use case will provide further protection to solar cells owners against payment defaults from the energy off taker. Staking into the SPIF offers up to 20% returns in SUNEX. Full details from page 31 of the whitepaper*.

Secondly it is their rewards token that rewards users for purchasing solar cells in Solar Projects. Holding higher numbers of SUNEX gives cell owners bonus lease rentals (+% on solar cell income), purchase discounts (-% on solar cell purchases) and priority access to new projects when using the Sun Exchange platform. Full details on page 36 of the whitepaper*.

Thirdly, to reward users by unlocking achievements in their gamified rewards programme by building a diverse and socially impactful portfolio of solar cells. Full details on page 37 of the whitepaper*.

The token sale is giving you the opportunity to get a headstart in the amount of SUNEX you own. After the sale the only way to acquire SUNEX tokens will be through purchasing Solar Cells in a project (1 cell = 1 SUNEX), unlocking achievements in the gamified rewards programme, or by purchasing them on exchange.

The SUNEX whitepaper can be downloaded here: https://tse.thesunexchange.com

I visited the town of Stellenbosch and the wine route, when South Africa hosted the Soccer World Cup. This is truly one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. I welcome any investment into

that area, and will be looking deeper into that. I also followed the other project, where your donations kept the lights on in one of the schools. The solar initiatives are getting good traction in that

country. I like projects with a green footprint, and this might be one of them.  Grin

About Us

I’m Abraham Cambridge, an international solar energy professional from the UK. You can read more about my career and accolades here.

I have set up several businesses globally that use solar energy as a basis for positive change in society and I now live in Africa, a continent rich in natural beauty and drenched in sunlight. And it is developing - fast. It is on that basis that I launch my new and world changing solar energy venture, The Sun Exchange.

Despite my best efforts in the past, there are still two problems in the world, both of which The Sun Exchange can solve:

  • Our global financial system has become overly reliant on fossil fuels, such as oil and gas, which is the root cause of global political conflict due to the value our financial systems place on these resources. If you have an institutional investment fund, it is most likely that some or all of your money is being used to discover and exploit these commodities.
  • Our electricity grids are still largely run on fossil fuels, resulting in irreversible climate change, threatening life as we know it.

This needs to change, and distributed democratic solar power on a global scale is the key.

February 11, 2015: Registered in the UK.
April 23, 2015: Registered Twitter account.
November 2015: Declares on Linkedin page when company was formed.

Why didn't Abraham Cambridge (Abe) put February 1015, on his Linkedin page like virtually most others would have?

Do you know how many remote places there are in South Africa that a phantom solar array could supposedly be put in place backed by investors that would never go to a location to check it out?

On second thought, ignore this post while I set up my The Wind Exchange in some remote part of the world based on the exact model as The Sun Exchange.

Crowd-lending solar energy project startup The Sun Exchange will be using Bitcoin for solar energy investment. This is a first for the Bitcoin industry.

Achieved last week, the startup is able to use Bitcoin as a transactional mechanism for investing in a solar energy. The Sun Exchange is now hosting a campaign to solar power a school in Stellenbosch, South Africa.

“What makes our platform unique is that investors can finance solar energy using Bitcoin and the electricity generated by the solar installation can be repaid to the investor using Bitcoin wherever they are in the world,” says founder of The Sun Exchange, Abe Cambridge.
