Unless he wanted to renounce his flawed Monetary Regression Theory, I suspect Mises would choose gold. I guess it depends on the parameters of this fantasy scenario: if Mises had been in Generation Y or a "Millenial" (suppressing... the...... irritation..... with.... that..... phrase), he would probably be a Bitcoiner instead. As a baby-boomer, he would be maybe 50/50 gold/bitcoin, but a gen X Mises would probably be broad-minded enough to give up on gold. Smart guy, after all.
