Gatecoin Issues a Statement on Recent Security Breach
Gatecoin, the Hong Kong-based digital currency exchange has issued an official statement regarding the recent security breach. The breach resulted in the digital currency exchange losing about 15 percent of its crypto-asset holdings, states Aurelien Menant, the CEO of Gatecoin. The exchange’s security was compromised on May 13, followed by a server malfunction the previous day. As a result of the breach, the platform has reportedly lost about $ 2 million in crypto assets constituting 185,000 ether and 250 bitcoins respectively...
