i can't see this lasting. the argentine government is going all out to kill uber. if bitcoin was big enough they'd be doing the same thing.

and it's open to all foreign debit cards so there's not alot of bitcoin involved.

I do not see any btc accepted in this news. the customers are going to pay with xapo card. so it is a debit card not bitcoin.

This shows off the strength of Bitcoin compared to the centralized banking system. Since there is no to control Bitcoin, blocking the payment method is very difficult. Especially when an intermediary service such as Xapo is being used. For the time being, it remains to be seen how long this “trick” will continue to work.

Good to see Uber circumventing this issue via Xapo, but it's still sad that they're not taking Bitcoin directly... For them it is pretty much the same as before. I hope they're indirectly fueling the Bitcoin economy in Argentina with this, tho.
