If there is enough ongoing arrests + convictions / fines etc then we could see a reduction in scammy bullshit.
You all for years viewed regulations as your parents giving you a bed time but..
When your house gets robbed while on vacation you are happy to call the cops right ?

I see this sort of thing as a deterrent.
Of course it would not stop scammy behavior.. but it could reduce it.
Crypto could definitely use a boost of integrity after years of bad news.

Don't forget too that Bitcoin these days has become synonymous with Ransomware.
The only time i hear about Bitcoin in the media anymore is when a Ransomware story is posted.

I also said earlier i mentioned "this" hours ago..
I meant i brought up how 1 coin was sketchy and laughable.. Not that i had heard of this news story yet.

I encourage people to think carefully about the concept of regulations etc.
You all want the cops to arrest Mark from Gox after he wanders off with the coins right ?
But don't shut down my scammy coin scheme i am invested in ?
Can't have it both ways people.

I have said for a couple years we can look at laws or regulations as a compromise.
I do not advocate laws imposed on us all in Crypto against our will.
All i ever said was lets take part in their creation ..lets get our input into it all.
Lets makes sure laws / regulations etc are put in place that work for us how we want.

Which is sooner or later going to be a problem.. why ? ANON COINS !
They are a huge middle finger to the world of law.
Pick your sides  Cheesy

I chose mine..

If we have law enforcement not act on any crypto matters this crypto stuff will just get worse and worse.
What i envision is yet MORE exchanges wandering off with all the money on a regular basis.
Because they know they can !

So think twice before chanting the rebellious Free Market Mantra Wink

I've read their white paper and I am surprised it's taken this long for them to face legal troubles.

The London police are investigating a digital currency scheme widely believed to be fraudulent.

OneCoin, promoted as a digital currency investment opportunity, was cited as a risk to consumers this week by the UK Financial Conduct Authority, one of several finance regulators in the country and the agency that has participated in the licensing of legitimate bitcoin and blockchain service providers.

Marketed as a digital currency similar to bitcoin, OneCoin has key differences such as an promotion-heavy pitch focused on selling investment packages and a centralized hub for exchange, storage and transaction logging. Critics have gone so far as to argue that OneCoin, as a currency, doesn't actually exist.

In statements, the FCA urged consumers who believe they have been scammed to contact the London police's fraud division.
