DECENT looks like a steaming pile of shit, which isn't surprising seeing how everyone and their brother is trying to "crowdfund/sale/ripoff" their shit-coin in an effort to get money before disappearing into the void.

Here's their point-by-point summary:

Independent - owned by the users and "will never be affiliated with any economic, media, or political party" -- The fuck it won't, its based on a reputation ratings, which is the single worst way to govern a network.

Borderless - You've got to be shitting me... you know what else is "borderless"? The goddamned internet. So what, you idiots...

Stable - not dependent on any single server - Until the three-letter agencies and the MPAA/RIAA shut you down for having copyrighted works on your Peer-to-Peer network... suuuuuure.

Fair - everyone starts at the same level and build up their reputation -- Until it gets gamed to hell with users playing to be publishers and others self-rating their own shit... just a big circlejerk crap-pile

Profitable - users can buy content directly from the authors and there is no cut taken by Decent -- Until the above happens and ratings mean exactly dogshit...

Spam Free - content publishing is expensive for spammers -- Who will exist anyway if the platform proves to have any kind of reach, invalidating this very claim.

Secure & Anonymous - authors can publish the content anonymously -- Except the transaction record will be recorded into a blockchain, which means pseudo-nonymous at best...

Recommendations-enabled - readers that purchased the content can embed their feedback into the blockchain -- Who really gives a shit. If you want a torrent, you grab it from one of the many seedpeers that exist outside of the DECENT system. Nobody cares about recco's that can be gamed and forged.

So in conclusion, you have a bunch of people gathering Bitcoin for their pet project and issuing some shit-tokens for a torrenting system that doesn't add fuckall for grabbing files hosted on the network. Its a propeller-head stunted dream of getting paid to torrent shit, which I guarantee will end up in the crosshairs of some litigious entities that will do everything in their power to disrupt and shut down their activities. Being a centralized holding entity isn't going to help these schmucks either.

In short -- stay the fuck away, unless you are a rich idiot that doesn't mind throwing money out of a window.
