bitcoin's trend is clearly up, in 2017 I think it will reach $2000. More and more people discovered and gets interested in bitcoin, thus pushing the price higher, as bitcoin is deflationary, it will certainly go much higher.

Yes it is totally going up, but I am skeptical about $2,000 next year. I hope it does reach it though. But I think there would first be a correction and after that it will sky rocket. It has been rising exorbitantly for the pass couple of days and we should expect a quick correction then followed by the continuance of that rise.

To reach 2000$ in 2017 I don't think so, the price can't double every year. I know everybody is happy that the price continues to claim, claim and never stop to reach the sky. What I think the price could be around more 1000USD to 1500USD, I think the price should increase slowly instead of big jump.

Thanks for your thoughts, but posts like that belong to Speculation board, there's plenty of relevant threads there. So lets not unnecessarily bump Press topics, let the old topics slide so the most recent press hits stay on the top.

The pound has taken quite a beating after Brexit. So BTC reaching an ATH against the pound is not a surprise.
The real excitement will come when we reach an ATH in dollar terms.

With the current BTC price rally, main stream media attention was inevitable. New ATH in GBP and EUR, USD still to come. Here's one of many hits:

Quote
Bitcoin has hit a new all-time high against the pound, with the virtual currency now well above the previous record levels of late 2013.

The currency remains below the record level against the dollar, the typical international benchmark, but has shot past its previous highs in sterling terms in recent days.

One bitcoin was worth £782.49 on Wednesday, above the £694.65 it reached on November 29 2013.

Against the dollar it sits around $957, below the $1,137 that Bloomberg records as its all-time high, but the fall in the pound since then has been a boon for British traders. The currency is also at an all-time high against the euro, at €918.
