Interesting to see Philippines is getting more progressive on bitcoin industry. To be honest. Bitcoin there is not really much appreciated by many people there. Btw, im from the Philippines also. We have coins.ph and rebbit. And now we have Abra. This is really good sign for bitcoin here in the Philippines.

Thats a good news for us. But how can they survive without taking any fees? I will try this then. Im from Philippines and im using a local wallet called coins.ph wallet. Thats a good for them since only few local wallets are being introduce here. They should add more currencies in the future like mycellium wallet. For now, im just gona keep my btc in my local wallet. Maybe i will try this in the future.

As we can read in the article - "Abra charges no transfer fees to users". So what is their way of generating revenue then?
Usually it is exchange and transfer fees which generate profits for remittance provider.
Abra network will either be a killer solution making bitcoin even more popular or total flop, we need to see the specifics to decide.

In early 2016, Abra finally began a test phase in the Philippines, using the Philippine Peso. Currently, the app only supports USD and PHP currencies with no bitcoin option available.

On Tuesday, Abra announced that it will finally launch worldwide, stating that:

"Anyone with a smartphone in any country can send or receive funds in most major currencies and can cash in or out of their Abra wallet, even without a bank account."
