I have to admit, I am not a big fan of the name either, but changing the name, will not solve the problem. The bad reputation was built on the

mistakes of small percentage of individuals and groups within the Bitcoin user base. We have events like Silkroad and Mt Gox hanging over

our heads, even though the majority of Bitcoin users are law-abiding citizens.  This bad reputation is also fuelled by Shills and misinformed

media looking for a bit of sensational news.  Roll Eyes

Many find the name Bitcoin an “unattractive” brand name. Indeed, some have been calling for replacing its name, and its differing logos, to prevent Bitcoin’s demise. Critics also point out that Bitcoin still lacks a proper currency symbol. Nevertheless, defying marketing orthodoxy, Bitcoin outperformed fiat currencies for two years in a row.
