a well written article indeed, very good points about BU just simply not
being ready for production, you just do not try and run an alpha test product
and pass it as a long term solution to the problems blockchain is having (probably,in part, created by the BU supporters themself)
the author emphasizes that the hard fork occurence probability in the near future is low, some give 10% ,some more
but the market has already voted and the price is slowly but surely creeping back to 1150$,that is some vote of confidence if I have seen any
besides I'm quite sure the upcoming event in May will only raise more question rather than give answers or produce any sort of agreement or a solution

Its pretty simple. BU is using an old forked version of Core's 0.11 client.

And they're doing it badly. They've already had two separate node-crashing incidents, and there are other lurking problems in their codebase that they refuse to let other people suggest fixes for. I don't really see how their "team" is going to implement anything complex, they can't even upgrade their client without massive issues as a result.

I'm not trusting my money to this crap, and I don't see why anyone in their right mind would either.

Indeed. Other than that, the level of the growth in support of BU has halted as there basically isn't anything left (at this point) that will allow them to actually initiate a hard fork. Even if so, before the hard fork to really happen I expect farms to pull out as things are getting too serious at that point. No farm will want to swallow huge losses by letting Bitcoin fork. It's not in their benefit at all.

Well since they've had huge problems with bugs, they're clearly not competent enough to run a major network.  It's ridiculous that nearly 40% of the hash rate is supporting such a crap system.

A well written article from, I assume, a supporter of the bitcoin core development team. I would like to see what the supporters of BU respond to this article and what they thing the BU developers can do to improve their software and how to convince everyone to support the hardfork.

To get it out there, I am not convinced that we need the hardfork to BU. Mine is more of a position of ignorance as I am not an expert in the technical matters of bitcoin. If someone knows thr topic deeply please post your opinions and thoughts.

The past couple of weeks were not a good time for the Bitcoin Unlimited team. It was identified that the team is struggling with several internal bugs, which created a tremendous impact on their growth. These bugs resulted in a downtime for the Bitcoin miners as well. On the other hand, it forced the developers to implement a closed source update. They have been working really hard throughout the past few weeks in order to resolve all the bugs, but they have not been able to verify and resolve all of them.

Out of the changes that were implemented to the core protocol of Bitcoin, the removal of the state corruption protection holds a prominent place. This change was heavily criticized by Greg Maxwell, one of the core developer. It is important for this feature to be present in order to ensure the proper functionality of the cryptocurrency. If it is absent, remote code execution and potential consensus splits could take place. Maxwell gave a clear explanation about it through one of his public statements.
