12th April, Hangzhou– The 1st China Blockchain Coding Contest, which will be held on 15th May 2017 in Hangzhou, has attracted top blockchain developers in China since the signup stage initiated in mid March.

The event is organized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology(MIIT), the National Standard Committee, Zhejiang Department of Economy and Information, Hangzhou Xiaoshan People’s Government, China Electronic Technology Standardization Institute (China Blockchain Technology and Industry Development Forum Secretariat), Ant Financial and other leading Fintech players in China.
Applicants of the event have exceeded the upper limit of final contestants with around one hundred projects or dev teams. According to the rules released by the official site, the deadline for signup and project submission will be 18th April. After the initial assessment, projects and dev teams will enter the next stage of “closed-door development”. Then on 15th May, all players will gather on the Hangzhou International Expo center( venue of G20 Summit 2016) for the final honor.
The purpose of the event is to pick the outstanding blockchain project and talents. Starting from April 19, a 15-member panel will assess all submissions from 4 perspectives:

technology advancement (30%), application value (30%), document integrity (10%) and promotion feasibility(30%)
The primary evaluation will be published on April 22 on the forum website. 10% of the primary evaluation will go to the final score. Those teams that have passed the primary assessment will have the opportunity to visit the G20 summit venue, and communicate with top players from home and abroad face to face. Also it’s a good opportunity to exchange ideas with blockchain entrepreneurs from Wanxiang Holding Ant Financial, WeBank, Lesi Fiancial, Wanda Network, Ping An Insurance, Yonyou Network, Hainan Airlines, Sany Group, Jinqiu Shares, Matrix Finance, Xinyuan Real Estate, Public Security Information, Shanghai Fenbu technology and many other heavyweight representatives.
In addition to the rich prize, winners will be supported by Fenbushi Capital, IDG, Lesi Financial, Hongling Capital, Haichuang Investment and other well-known VC. The award-winning projects will also be listed as the first batch of open-source blockchain projects endorsed by the Ministry of Industry and Information. At the same time, in order to protect intellectual property rights, the bottom layer platform of this competition could either be the existing open-source software or self-owned development platform. The organizers does require that the bottom layer platform to go open-source. Whatever content that may go open-source content will be determined by the participating team to better protect the interest of participants.

“The China Blockchain Technology and Industry Development Forum” is founded by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Standardization Management Committee and co-sponsored by the China Electronic Technology Standardization Institute, Ant Financial, Wanxiang Holdings, Ping An Insurance, Lesi Financial, Wanda Network technology. The forum was established in Beijing on October 18, 2016 and published the “China Blockchain Technology and Application Development White Paper 2016”, in which blockchain is believe to be applicable in 6 typical scenarios: financial services, supply chain management, culture and entertainment, intelligent manufacturing, social welfare, education and employment. The competition is set to further promote the application and practice of the standard and nurture a blockchain ecosystem to promote practical implementation of the blockchain technology.
