Palestinians hated jews and at the same time uses Israeli shekel. It was something new for me to know). The Palestinian pound - sounds interesting. In any case these are long therm 5 years plans and we precisely will not see soon palestinian pound, fiat or crypto.

I don't think that having your own digital currency saves you from an agression
besides I doubt they would want a pseudo-decentralised currency they cannot control to serve
even if as a secondary currency, too many risks
so they would create their own digital currency or talks just remain talks (most likely)

Bitcoin is the answer to ANY government issued fiat currency. If the Palestinian government plays it well, it will lead to a massive shift from something they so badly hate (Shekel), to Bitcoin as that is more or less the same as freedom -- freedom that they badly need. But then again, what sanctions will the Israeli government come up with after that? They won't hesitate to squeeze out Palestine even further.

There is a possibility that Palestinian government will try on using bitcoin first, to study and at least familiarize their selves about digital currency and block chain.  There is no news about Palestinian government using bitcoin as an alternative but since they are planning to create a digital currency for themselves, they will be needing to know all about it and bitcoin is the best option to try to know how cryptocurrency work.

Palestinian officials are planning for the territory to have its own digital-only currency within five years, a move designed to safeguard against potential Israeli interference, the head of the Palestine Monetary Authority (PMA) told Reuters.
