Reminds me of news from China.

First they're banning it.

No wait, they're just going to regulate it.

Nope, ban again.

Wait a sec - gonna regulate.

Just keeps ping-ponging between two absolutes with nothing in between. Like a badly coded bot.

I think Putin was mad because he dissapointed that Russia lost her chance to accumulate key amounts of bitcoin in her hands, like China did. He understand that Russia superiority highly depends from high technologies.

Putin is mad because he can't control bitcoin. Anything that he can't control, he will be mad. And I think corruption will be bypass if bitcoin is used in Russia so another reason for him not to love bitcoin.  Oh well, we will just leave it just like that. I know there are still a lot of Russians into bitcoin and its gonna be hard for government to stop them. Not even Russian and Putin's regime.

That's why I'm saying that we should all take a bag of salt everything that coming out of Russia. We all know that there is a authoritarian regime in Russia, headed by Putin. There's no doubt, now, that Russia don't want to embrace or even regulate bitcoin. So there you go folks, what we all have been suspected all year long. They even have a press release saying that in 2018 they will likely regulate it. LOL. So just let it be. Its not our lost, they will likely to be left out in this tsunami that Japan already started.

So really Russia is really anti-bitcoin after all. No surprise here. Russia's declaration about bitcoin is really inconsistent. One day you will see that they are enthusiastic about bitcoin/blockchain technology. The next day you will hear negative news about bitcoin. So if the President says and he is mad about bitcoin, then don't expect Russia to join the bitcoin bandwagon, that is least Putin is the President there.

Everything that comes from Russia should be taken with a truckload of salt. Another factor that plays an important role to the inconsistencies in the news articles (e.g. one day being Bitcoin friendly, and the other day not), comes from the fact that quite some articles get poorly translated. Plus, "writers" add an extra layer of nonsense to maintain a certain form of uniqueness, in order to avoid plagiarism.

Russian Govt: Bitcoin ‘Expanding’, Putin ‘Mad’ About Digital Economy

Speaking during a discussion at a dedicated Blockchain growth panel at last week’s St. Petersburg Economic Forum, Shuvalov said Putin kept a group of ministers up until 1am talking about the subject.

“He only let us go at just after one,” a reporter from local news resource RBC quoted Shuvalov as saying.
