Politicians usually comment and argue about things they know little about at every opportunity to get the attention of the media. That is all it is, to get media mileage.

He's dumb. The means, including payment systems and currencies, that are used to acquire illegal goods are not important. It's important to control the suppliers.
They have people importing guns and explosives from abroad, probably from Russia or Ukraine, and selling them in their backyard and all they are worried is that digital currencies might be used to buy them. Somebody should tell him to change priorities.
