Maybe 🇬🇧 government just protecting its citizens. It's hard to analyze or give suggestions how should they handled situation like this because it's anonymity is protecting the criminals. In the same way there's no way any government has the right to banned bitcoin if ever only because they can't control it. Criminal activity has been around since before bitcoin established. If that's the argument can we just banned "$dollar" when they been used in money laundering.

This is definitely required. You wouldn't want the police to seize bitcoins, only for them to fall prey to hackers and lose it all.
You can't expect the police to automatically know about storing bitcoin securely.

There must be a way where the authorities can be able to stop or run after criminals who used Bitcoin as the preferred method of payment. I am not really sure how it can be done but there is a need for that otherwise there would be a big chance that authorities would instead gang up on Bitcoin as a whole.

Before there was bitcoin, there were already crimes, I think exaggerated they are blaming bitcoin, people who use bitcoin for malefic purposes are the only culprits. They should not be commenting as if bitcoin had hands, eyes and legs to commit crimes.

UK Police Aim to Understand Bitcoin

The report claims that criminals prefer to use cryptocurrencies in crimes like ransomware, dark web activities and more. The paper says bitcoin is the most favored cryptocurrency employed in illicit activities and N8 believes UK-based officers need to grasp this new technology.

“Cryptocurrencies have increasingly become a common method of value exchange in a number of types of criminal activity,” explains the four-page proposal. “This collaborative project has brought together a variety of experts from different disciplines and practices to explore the challenges posed by criminal use of cryptocurrency with regard to the investigation, production of conclusive evidence of wrongdoing, and prosecution of offenders.”
