People can do a whole lot of crazy stuff for their stars and should bitcoin be allowed for such a fundraiser with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo signing up for this bitcoin will go to the moon in no time, maybe this is the kind of publicity bitcoin needs to get mass adoption.

It is going to be a good promotion for bitcoin and all alts together. Celebrities have made good promotion to all products all the time and now bitcoin is one of such products. I think it is going to be a break for all crypto world and people will stop to scare it.

This is really a nice way to boost any products with attaching the celebrities to it. As people do follow the stars, this celebrities can act as the brand ambassador and may boost the sales and demand of this products. Currently I think altcoins requires the most of it as the price is just dropping .

I don't agree with you. It's Cristiano Ronaldo uses bitcoin for its PR. Bitcoin is self-contained and does not need such advertising. For me more important is the statement that Amazon is going to accept bitcoin. If this happens we will have bigger consequences than PR all forwards in the world.

Come to think of it, there's been a drop off in celebrity endorsements of Bitcoin, hasn't there? We had the Ashton Kutchers (however you spell his name) and the Whoopi Goldbergs thrust Bitcoin into the spotlight some years back but haven't heard of similar news lately. Some MMA people, basketball people, rappers, yes but those to me have limited fanbases outside North America.

I suppose it was only a matter of time before some global superstar like Ronaldo got his face into the pie. Just waiting for the Branston or the Ver crew to get it on with the likes of Sam Jackson or Morgan Freeman. Or make an appearance on some late night show.

But why so negative, crypto and charity have had a long history, and may their relationship live long.

It's an interesting concept and a somewhat odd combination (cryptocurrency and football). But overall, regardless if you like football or Christiano Ronaldoor not, it's great publicity for crytocurrency and more importantly bitcoin. Paying $36 thousand dollars is in my opinion outrageous but it's for a good cause.

Ok, that is something tottaly different from what we are used to, around here. In the new Platform of CharityStars a kind of lotto for meet the celebrities just happened. Where people can just bid, to get the chance of meeting celebrities, as Cristiano Ronaldo. The raised money was donated to the Forever Dream Fundation. The CharityStars wants to stay on the hedge of raising funds industries, therefore, they are very pleased, in integrate digital currencies in that platform.

It is actually a very good cause and they are using celebrity power to get more attention and participation that they deserves. I am sure that this and many more can help the reputation of Bitcoin away from the so-called dark web where we know that illegal acts are committed using Bitcoin (it is not the fault of Bitcoin though as any currency can be utilized by criminals anywhere!).

More and more projects that can benefit humanity and are giving off that necessary positive vibes any time of the day can also be working well for Bitcoin as it is always accused of being used in money laundering and even drugs, human traffic and maybe next time terrorism.

It is time to redeem the name of Bitcoin and make it aligned with celebrities!

Have you ever dreamt of meeting your lifetime hero? How much would you pay to meet your favorite singer or soccer player? And, what if you want to pay with digital currencies?

An online fundraising auction platform CharityStars plans to do so, by announcing that it started to accept Bitcoin as a method of payment.

Cristiano Ronaldo for Bitcoins

A few days ago, a bid of $36,000 worth of Bitcoin awarded the auction winner with the chance to meet the football champion, Cristiano Ronaldo. The proceeds from this auction will be donated to the Forever Dream Foundation, the association that gives unique experiences to disadvantaged children and families.

Francesco Nazari Fusetti, Co-founder and CEO of CharityStars, explained:

Quote
“CharityStars strives to be at the forefront of the fundraising industry; thus it was a natural move to integrate cryptocurrencies onto our platform, providing more transparency for donors and helping our 500 charities to raise more money.”

VIPs love charity

Auctions are conducted through the CharityStars platform. They are not only for winning celebrities meet and greet but also other luxury experiences or products, whose proceeds will go to charity associations such as Amnesty International, Breast Cancer Now, Save the Children, Croce Rossa Italiana, Operation Smile, Make a Wish and many more.

On the platform, one can find a bunch of VIPs to have a dinner or a meeting with Vivienne Westwood, Giuseppe Cipriani, Leo Messi and many more. The Italian MotoGP champion Valentino Rossi is also involved in a charity auction to give his motorbike replica to the auction winner.

Blockchain and charity-related issues

CharityStars plans to integrate Blockchain technology to have a more transparent system. This is not the first time a charity association decides to use the Blockchain to provide users a clearer process of the raised funds they receive.

For example, the Italian Helperbit does similar work in the natural disaster donations sector. Back in 2016, Helperbit helped Legambiente, Italian environmental association, to raise funds for its campaign entitled The Rebirth has a Young Heart dedicated to young entrepreneurs in the Italian areas affected by the earthquakes.

Another Bitcoin and Blockchain related charity association is called BitHope, a Bulgarian non-governmental organization (NGO) that uses only digital currency to accumulate funds for the campaigns that are hosted on their platform.

As you can see on the Bitcoin Charity website, there are a lot of associations that accept Bitcoin as a method of payment. For you to decide to which good deed to spend your cryptos and.. which star to have dinner with.
