busy in real life, long post gap is understandable
Okay, with this news I think they will probably create their own tokens using ETH. This may help to boost the price of ETH and other ALTCOIN and Tokens that are currently on the ETH Platform. This will be a hit, as we all know Amazon has a lot of Loyal Customers. Waiting for more news and also statement directly from Amazon.

It is all just rumors before that Amazon will be accepting cryptocurrency but now there are more clear evidence of their future move. They may not have announced it officially but I believe they are already making preparations for it to be implemented because crypto space is getting bigger and they don't want to be left behind. With the announcement of bitcoin futures, this may stabilize the value of bitcoin thus they can reduce the risk of having losses due to volatility. It may take some time for them to implement it but it will come and then bitcoin would be widely known and there will be more demand to it which would be advantageous to us bitcoin enthusiasts.

If they are going to accept cryptocurrencies. Why don't they announce it and use the original site?
It will just cause confusion to people who wants to buy with their Bitcoins because they'd created a different domain. Anyway, i think they are going to accept cryptocurrency as a payment method in the future. Because they are not going to create multiple domains without any purpose. It's good to know that they are now interested with this technology and i hope that they announce it as soon as possible. Anyway, i think Alibaba planning to accept Bitcoin as a payment. But due to China regulations. The plans have delayed. I don't know what's the progress.

i doubt that there move will be in favor of ethereum over bitcoin, most large corporations  are backing-up  ethereum while large whale traders aewbacking-up bitcoin. amazonethereum.com could be a big name to amazon showing their big support to ethereum crypto as what the corporations support and produced, the consumers' trend will follow. business-to-consumers relationship has a deeper impact than business-to-business relationship.

Well, we are all hoping that eventually Amazon would be accepting Bitcoin and maybe also other top coins as part of their official mode of payments or transactions. It would have been one of the biggest news for Bitcoin and can create an avalanche of support for cryptocurrency as a whole. No doubt such a move can skyrocket the value of Bitcoin to the sky...maybe pushing it beyond $10,000.

I am sure that Amazon is closely watching Bitcoin and they are just looking for the right timing for its announcement by the time when everything can be ready. The excuse coming from amazon is that there is still no demand for Bitcoin to be added...isn't time that a group could campaign for this cause so Amazon would be pressured to seriously look at Bitcoin?

   - Amazon has registered three new cryptocurrency-related domains, according to trade publication DomainNameWire.
   - The domains are amazonethereum.com, amazoncryptocurrency.com, amazoncryptocurrencies.com.
   - Amazon already owns the "amazonbitcoin.com" domain name, according to Coindesk.

Amazon has secured three new domain names related to cryptocurrency, sparking speculation that the e-commerce giant could be preparing a move into the cryptocurrency space.

However, Amazon Pay's VP Patrick Gauthier told CNBC last month that Amazon had no plans to accept cryptocurrency because there hasn't been much demand yet, and Amazon may simply be protecting its brand name.

The domains are: amazonethereum.com, amazoncryptocurrency.com, amazoncryptocurrencies.com.

Trade publication DomainNameWire was the first to report on Amazon's move. The report said Amazon registered for the domains on Tuesday.

The news comes as bitcoin, the largest cryptocurrency by market cap, smashed through a new record high price on Wednesday, reaching $6,600 for the first time, following news of CME's plan to launch bitcoin futures later this year.

There have been some rumors of Amazon eventually accepting cryptocurrencies, like bitcoin, but the company has never acknowledged these plans. Just last month, another unfounded rumor about Amazon's acceptance of bitcoin drove up bitcoin's price immediately.

In any case, Amazon seems intent on owning multiple cryptocurrency-related domain names. According to Coindesk, Amazon signed up for the domain "amazonbitcoin.com" three years ago. Amazonbitcoin.com now takes you straight to Amazon.com.
