This topic is rolling over the forum over and over again. Meanwhile all answers seems known long time ago. Did you ever heard about a book "Men from Mars, Women from Venus"? I think this explains everything, women used to thing different way and if boys start to be interested in comps from the very young years, girls interested in totally different things. I admire of those 4% of women who decided to connect themselves with crypto, those women definitely used to think their own head and to earn money their own brain, without checking that their men will simply bring everything to them. Bravo girls!

I don't think so....might be men & women ratio is not equal at this forum. But outside women are quite aware of the crypto-currency market. Even ICO teams also have women carrying an important responsibility in their team and play an important role to make their ICO's successful.

My point is that generally speaking the more women that are involved in something the less prone it is to machismo and ego based political battles.
I'm comfortable to stand behind that remark.

Gender is about as relevant as eye and hair color when discussing ideas.

It is very condescending to women to imply that men have to try and get more women involved in Bitcoin. Women are free to become involved or not without having to have men try and encourage it, it is treating women as less capable to imply they need help.  Women don’t need men to hold their hands to get them involved, everyone has the same opportunities.

What I want to know is the percentage of people who self-identify as female and the percentage that are cis-gender.  Are blue and green eyed people underrepresented too?   /sarcasm

Main reason behind this unbalanced gender ratio is the awareness. That means men are more aware about this crypto-market and its application. It is seen that women often have keen interest in fashion, cooking, teaching etc whereas men are more dominating in fields like technology, Stock markets, Economics etc.
Moreover, it is seen Men like to share their profit making experience to their friends and where as women are bit reserved in such facts.

Why So Few Women in Bitcoin?

Tech industries are inherently male-dominated for reasons that include boys being introduced to gadgets at a younger age, leading to just 16% of computer science undergraduates being female.

exactly

This is often due to the culture and lack of interest of women, for example, there are many women who use whatsapp and facebook all day, women want to own the most modern and expensive mobile phones in the world, but few women are interested in computers or programming. women want fast and practical things

I think people should talk to women and find out why they are not interested in Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is something complicated and women want practical things, if you give her a bitcoin debit card and she's going to make a purchase with him, she'll probably be interested in bitcoin

We often hear that there aren't a lot of women.
While it's true there are more men I think there are a lot more women than people realise.
I also think we NEED more women.
The more women involved the less politics and BS we'll see

Take a look around the crypto community, both in meatspace and online, and it would be fair to say that the majority of participants are male. This is borne out in a recent survey of 2,000 Americans which shed light on the makeup of the bitcoin space, highlighting a stark gender divide. In fact Google Analytics data estimates less than 4% of bitcoin users to be female. The question is, why?

Welcome to the Boys’ Club.

As news.Bitcoin.com reported earlier this week: Twice as many men own or have owned bitcoin and are almost three times as likely as women to buy bitcoin in the next five years. Men also have a more positive view of bitcoin (17% versus 7%).

Despite initiatives designed to encourage more girls to code, the number of female computer science undergraduates in the UK has actually dropped in the last 10 years. Attributing other reasons to the absence of women in tech is highly contentious, as fired Google engineer James Damore discovered to his peril this year.

Simple Explanation to it - INTEREST.
In general women aren't much interested in finance and tech as men do. It isn't like that women are completely cut-off, there is a noticeable presence of them in most of the ICO team, etc. But as compared to men, they are less indeed.
Other than that, I don't feel any other valid reason for their segregation.

I think people should talk to women and find out why they are not interested in Bitcoin. If Bitcoin is dominated by men, then

people should change that. Satoshi created this for everyone {all races, male and female of ALL age groups} ...not just for

men. In my experience.... a lot of women are using it, but prefer not to boast or brag about it like men.  Wink

I think because generally when it comes to investing, men are more aggressive. They are okay with experiments and they tend to be adaptive to losses. These characteristics are prone to men although it does not suggest that women are inferior than those of men.

In regard your article, I think others may view it as sexist because it draws a line between the capacities of men and women. While as for me, I think it is a good data to rely onto.

Especially of the female mind are that they are less inclined to technology. All cryptocurrency is a new technology and so few women use them. But women have a very developed intuition. Genetically a woman cares for her family. It will never invest in risky projects. If tomorrow she will lose the money she had nothing to feed the children. It lies in their nature. All crypto-currencies is a very risky asset.

I Agree less girls are interested in bitcoin . Even though i got to know about bitcoin through my female friend but still the ratio is comparitively very low .
This might be the reason of interest . Girls are seen paying less attention to all the geeky things that might be the main reason . I don't think that it is the question of understanding , the only reason I see here is the lack of interest among females .
