One of Japan's leading derivatives exchanges has begun preparations to launch Bitcoin futures contracts, creating competition for the US stock markets that announced the product launch later this month, according to an article published by Bloomberg, the US news agency . Tokyo Financial Exchange Inc., which has banks such as JPMorgan and Barclays Bank as trading partners, plans to set up a working group to study crypto-coins in January next year, Shozo Ohta, the company's chief executive, told a news conference last week. Among some of the requirements would be the change in the country's securities legislation, Ohta said. In Japan, the formation of a working group typically means the first step in drafting new laws.
