Quick read, damn the clickbait title. Think the journalist jumped the gun; this is just an observation and all the site seems to suggest is that you can add "Cryptocurrency OK" tag to your ad, just so people who want to buy can refine their search terms. Useful, to be sure, recognition yes, easier for Bitcoin users to search ads yeah... but this is a far cry from actually "enabling sellers to accept Bitcoin".

As far as I know it's just a site hosting ads. Sellers have been free to accept Crypto in the past, hell sellers have been known to accept the most outlandish currencies. I know as early as 2014 you can see ads for some services there with Bitcoin-only payment. Don't see why this is big news since CL doesn't actually process any payments... or has their business model changed now?

i would assume the seller would have to accept. craigslist is not going to be an escrow.

but it would be nice because you could click an option potentially to see what is selling for bitcoin.

Craigslist, the US-based classified advertisements platform, has perhaps inadvertently given a sneak peak of its intention to allow sellers to accept Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as an official payment method.

Craigslist’s “Cryptocurrency Ok” option

On December 8, a member of an online Bitcoin community discovered that the Craiglist product and service listing page for merchants included an option entitled “Cryptocurrency Ok.”

The exact timeframe in which the Craiglist development team intends to fully integrate support for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies remains unclear. Given that the company has not provided any public statement in regards to its cryptocurrency payment option makes it likely they will conduct a pilot test first. If successful, they could roll out a full integration of Bitcoin in the long-term, like Square.

Well , that option somehow clear the air .
There might not have been any public statement on it but if they accept cryprocurrency as a means of payment and the option can be seen on the website then that might be true for the matter of fact . If that is true , then that is  a good news for bitcoin and will turn out to be an inspiration for many other companies in the business world . That is all that bitcoin needs "recognition" and "acceptance" .
The rumors about amazon accepting bitcoin were surfacing lately but i haven't heard about its implementation yet . I hope they come out with some good deal with bitcoin.
