He started to be a good crypto influencer, but lately its looks like he is a master manipulator himself. Initially, we love all his tweets about bitcoin, because its really funny and laughable and we still remember he said that he is going to eat his d**k in public. LOL. But lately he is trying to be some kind of guru specially in altcoins predicting what directions should be. I don't know though if its a good or bad thing for the market though. We have seen a lot of faceless manipulator who only works from behind. But damn, John M as of late is really opening his mouth and his followers quickly follow. I agree that the is bullish about bitcoin that's why he is one big influence, but I don't really know what he's intention on speculating on altcoins. Oh well, most of them are pump-and-dump, maybe that's the reason why is he swaying most of them, he has vested interest on most altcoins and try to manipulate it on his favor.

For the last week he was just a manipulator that have profit with some shit advice. It is just sad because he is one of the
longest inspirators for many people that have started with cryptographic. I do not think twitter is the best place to talk about new projects without a proper introduction on other places like, maybe, medium.com. There must be more information on why you choose some project to invest. Not just, hey check this out...

Regardless of what people think of him, he is at least ultra bullish on Bitcoin, and that for quite a while now. If I look a bit further, it seems to me that he is quite an attention seeker with his statements, but it is what it is. He isn't just one of the many "experts" popping, but a real entrepreneur that made himself a very wealthy individual, so he definitely has some right of speaking. I personally don't see him as anything of all this article is about, but if I think further, I don't think there is anyone fitting that description for me. The only individual managed to manipulate the market has been Jamie Dimon where he called Bitcoin a fraud, from where the market has gone down.

I think he is both an influencer and manipulator rolled in one. Remember when you are an influencer, you may be pro or anti. Hence, it can be said you are trying to influence the people to successfully sway them to agree to your terms. This is where manipulating comes to play.

As to McAfee, his sudden surfacing in the Bitcoin market when it soared highest by far this year is suspicious. He is giving me a picturesque that he is either into it or against it BUT all for one reason: TO ACCUMULATE MORE WEALTH. If you can see it the same way I do, I think he is only after his vested interest. Unless he would want to do charity works for people who cannot get a good job out there and just venture into Bitcoin?

I would like to believe he is a Bitcoin influencer however I see him more of a manipulator nowadays. It seems to me that he has a stake in the outcome of Bitcoin's value. His being vocal about it is more controversial because he is well-known in the field he has chosen to embark on, and he uses such social standing to influence people across borders on what to do with their money. By doing so, he is moving mountains because every word of his is given weight by all investors, putative investors, and even naysayers.

Additionally, you have to think that upper class citizens do not share trade secrets at all. Why then is he sharing his interest on Bitcoin? What good will it bring him? On the contrary, what good will it bring others?

You have to see things on both perspective.

He isn't a crypto currency influencer, and he isn't a manipulator - no one takes this clown seriously. He is looking for spotlight attention, and in order to get that, he acts like a complete moron in basically every video where he gets interviewed by whatever news channel. It's almost impossible to find high level people down to earth and actually try to contribute instead of using their big mouth all the time. I think thus far the only entities I do somewhat respect, are the Winklevoss twins. I appreciate each and every contribution of them to make this market interesting and accessible to institutional investors and other wealthy entities. Action speaks louder than words, and that's something I 100% agree with.

Alea iacta est
This only demonstrates how the majority of the cryptomarkets have moved from fundamentals to pure speculation. The only thing this guy has is reach and a sense of credibility because he is the founder of a major anti-virus product. Other than that he is not someone who's worth your time and is mainly follow by short term profit seekers. Glad he quite hyping up these coins.

John McAfee is certainly the most controversial person of the last month. In December, the creator of one of the most popular anti-virus software contributed to the gigantic and violent surges of Verge, and also began to promote the most valuable altcoins in his opinion.

McAfee tweets

As reported by Dowbit in a previous article, McAffee has influenced the price of altcoins like Verge.
On 20th December McAfee announced via Twitter that he would be presenting an altcoin every day that he thought was most valuable. After the XVG situation, the community expected a daily increase in cryptocurrency value, which McAfee will promote. Intuition didn’t fail this time, but yet more altcoins aroused more and more controversy. Of course, this is not about the positions McAfee offered, but about the prices of each coin. Below you will find a graph of BURST, one of the tokens listed by McAfee.
