Well OP doesn't quite write in that way again, but their posts isn't still good enough to rank up for plethora of reasons.
Even if the OP improve his post quality I don't think the OP will rank up if he those not change the section he is posting, most of his posts are in altcoin discussions which we all know that the section is for spammers, people don't really give merit in the section because you can't really find quality posts there. It's kind of suprising that a user to be on the forum since 2017 with just 13 merits, with kind of activies the OP is having. The only solution I have for the OP now is to increase the quality of his posts and change the section that he frequently post, you can go on research and read so that you can improve in your post.

I joined long time back on 2017. still member. i am really ashamed about it.I want to increase to legendary. please help what should i do?

This is bitcointalk and not bounty or altcoins talk where you consistently post on bounties, am not saying you can't get merits there as well but where the attention is needed for the main purpose of the forum is on bitcoin talks and you should know they are apparently the first two boards you will first discover on the forum before others, try to study and get improved with knowledge about bitcoin and the forum itself, present a quality post that has meaning and taughts, be consistent on the forum, and do this for some time and check back if you wouldn't have make progress in rank, but with this kind of post you just made on this thread is the type that does not attract merit and often refers to as low quality post.

I don't know how I missed this thread,
You prolly missed it because it was posted in the beginners and help board, and i've read you say a couple of times that you have this board on your list of ignore boards, or have you unignored this board?
I didn't look at anything more recent, so I don't know if OP still writes as though he's texting,

Nearly 2 years inactive and many of your posts that are also not involved in the quality discussion make you difficult to get merit.
Improve the quality of posts, there are several veterans member who are ready to review posts and you will get merit if it is feasible.
I don't know how I missed this thread, but I stumbled across it while doing a post history review for a member.  OP is on my ignore list, which I haven't added to in quite some time, so that sparked a suspicion in me that he's a lousy poster--and after taking a look at some of his older posts, I found ones like these:

Patience yes no 1, sometimes i worry about why i sold sia.. We will see
I got ur idea , thanks

I didn't look at anything more recent, so I don't know if OP still writes as though he's texting, but if he's seriously asking why he hasn't ranked up....c'mon, bro.  It's obvious you missed the boat in the time you had before the merit system came about, plus you're basically a shitposter.  Question answered.

From your post history, you were busy with bounty  and alternative cryptocurrencies making shit post. But that is not too late you can still make if only you are ready to learn. What you have to do now is to read other people quality posts and make comments if you understand what the poster said. Make quality contributions and educate users then merits will come to you. Everything needs process, The result will depend on what kind of process you are in.
The process also will depend on the learning and the understanding to follow up the learning.
It can be easy for those who care able to learn and then implement what they have been learning.
but this will be very dififult to rank up for those who are only asking, and getting advice, but no following up as well.
Here, see your post history, there are many one-line post, or non-constructive posts., I think that you need to learn how to improve your posts, just focus on how to make them by seeing other members' histories that can earn merits here. The merit will always be there if your psot is worthy, constructive, informative, and also good enough. Never be ashamed or give up when eveyrtime posting but not getting any merits. You need to improve again your posts.
Then, actually yo can also search for the certain topics that may give you merits.

Base on the forum rules, need to make a quality post or share a relevant information that's contribute the forum, while getting merits to rank up, not longer post activity to rank up as of back 2017.
That's what we should follow which is the forum rules. Op may also be not active in joining discussions that's why op didn't rank up. Even if you didn't make high quality post you can still earn merit to rank up. There is another reason why forum users who joined 2017 or 2018 didn't ranked up is because they are joining bounty campaigns which is not what you should do to earn merit. Try checking lower ranks and see the date they register their account and you'll see the same situation as OP.

As forum users, we don't expect such questions from you who joined in 2017. I joined the same year and the rank is Legendary today. And earned merits are more than Legendary. So it's all about your contribution. Your rank depends on how you contribute to the forum. The forum isn't like before just making a post will rank you up. No one can help you except you.

Don't be ashamed,  you can grow if truly you really want to grow. It is all about interest and portion to learn. If growing is your problem try to develop yourself,  learn bitcoin and you will grow. If you don't do anything about you developing yourself then you will remain stagnant.

Your are right about being ashamed. I know how long I stayed as Full member before attaining senior member rank some days ago. I took it in good faith but gradually I ranked up. I hope to rank up more and am improving on my posts by spending more time in the forum and reading more of what others post. You have to do so too if you want to rank up. Nobody will award you merit if you do not improve. Your legendary aim is a very long journey.

Your number of activities is already a lot, which is 686. So I think to become legendary you just need to work harder to collect merits while waiting for your number of activities to be enough. because some of the people on the forum have received Merit up to almost 1000. but unfortunately their activity is still very small. and not even enough to just become a full member. And unfortunately they can't get the amount of activity fast. because it only increases every 14 days with a total of 14 activities (if I'm not reading it wrong). And keep in mind that the amount of activity I think is very important. because the amount of activity can not be accelerated.
different from Merit which can be obtained faster if we continue to contribute in making useful posts.
so all you need to do is focus on making useful posts on this forum. and Merits will come to you. Considering that you are a long time member of this forum, then I believe with the experience and knowledge you already have you can easily collect Merit if you work a little harder.

Hard work, good constructive posts, being helpful to others on the forum, being polite & friendly. It’s tough for somebody to rank up since the merit system was implemented. It’s very possible though, others have joined since then & become some of the most respected members on the forum.

Get involved in conversations, it will come when you stop being desperate & chasing it.

Yes exactly mate we have the same thought but in OP's case as we visit his profile and recent post what we see is that he is posting from altcoins bouties which he can not receive any single merit out there it because mostly in replies of all topics out there are useless to the forum. And OP what I said to you That it's better to do or improve your post technique because you are not yet late to rank up.

Thanks for letting some points. On my job also , seniors telling me that your work is not neat and poor presentation. From today onwards I try my best to present my knowledge in an attractive way.
Take it as a constructive criticism and not on a negative way. That's the way for you to increase your rank.

You want to present your knowledge; you might want to make research as always. What I did when I was a newbie is I'm watching documentaries with regards to cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin in particular on YouTube. There are some ways for you to learn. There's information on the internet already and what you only need to do is to make a quick search.

You are ashamed on your rank to activity ratio right now but are you thinking the feeling of those users who have 1000 activity already and yet they are still newbie? Cheesy

Compared to others, I've attained slow growth too but the case is different if I change that comparison to you at OP. The reasons is just simple, you haven't doneich for the for but to yourself. Your slow progress doesn't just stem from the places you've made posts but also, most of your posts from your early days in the for and up to some significant time are one liners. Some are even a single word like
Quote
Sure
Quote
Yes
Good enough, the activities have been kind with you as its got no discrimination unlike merot that most go to the quality posts and are more frequent on certain boards than others.

If you need to grow in ranks of the forum, you must first learn the ways to make contributions that carries a symmetric load and addresses or questions an issue.

What is interesting to you may not necessarily be interesting to other users. I need to remind you, don't post just for merit as you should post your knowledge naturally without trying to fishing merit. About one thing, not many merit sources will pay attention to you [maybe ignoring you] if you only post for merit. Now the good thing is, you start to care about rank and merit.

While I hope you applied the advices replied by other members in here, may I ask on why so desperate into ranking up to Legendary? You could still use the forum even if you are in "Member" rank.

No one is going to humiliate you because of your forum rank though there are some limitations that you would encounter like some boards that you would not be able to post.

Be more natural on expressing and sharing your thoughts.
This has been said before but I do also believe that looking/reviewing posts that has given some merit will help you understand how users give merits to other users. There are various reasons. You can give merits subjectively (you just like)/ objectively (the post met your standards for objectively giving merit).

Good to hear that OP and as I said this to you, in your case you are not late to share your knowledge in any aspects about crypto especially bitcoins .and also like what other said you must do and create useful post to achieve what you want to achieve because most ( not all) of the legendary or let say high ranks member achieve where they are now it because of a hard work and dedication.

You have to blame yourself for that, if you have been making quality post then I believe you will have been in legendary rank which you want to be. I Checked your post history, but I notice that the sections you are posting, you won't really receive merit from those sections, people believe Altcoin Discussion is a section where lot's of people spam, so people don't really pay attention to that section. So my advice for you is that change the section you are posting and make sure you increase the quality of your post, I believe you will start receiving merits and you will get to legendary rank that you want but it might take time. make sure you don't rush so that you won't endup going against the forum rules, just continue posting and don't have the mindset that you want to rank up quickly, I believe you will start receiving merits, but if you want to continue posting in Altcoin Discussion I don't think you will be receiving enough merits that can take you to legendary rank.

If you have learned something from all the posts in this thread, then it is something positive. Try to apply at least some of that and don't do anything by force, one quality topic a day is more useful than thread spam all over the forum.

Also, look at your last post where you used the quote option completely unnecessarily, because you could have written that sentence without it, or you could have edited it so it wouldn't be a meaningless wall of text. It's not that the presentation is the most important thing, but many people appreciate when the post is presented in a way that's pleasing to the eye, which means it's easy to read.

Every level in this life is a gradual process, and getting where you want to go always requires starting somewhere. To achieve a Full Member rank, let alone a Legendary rank, on this forum, you must be devoted, supportive, a good content writer, and extremely active.
There are a lot of users who rank up very quickly; some of them have legendary merits but lack the necessary activity to advance in rank. All of this is due to their commitment, time, and support of the forum. In order to have enough time to learn and contribute to this wonderful forum, I urge you to tighten up and stay away from Bounties.
I joined long time back on 2017. still member. i am really ashamed about it.I want to increase to legendary. please help what should i do?

from the history of the posts you made and also the quality of the posts, I found your chance to reach the legendary is only 0.5%

Don't expect you to get a rank increase by accident, this is different from real life. improve the quality of your posts, increase your time to read, and also keep learning then your chances of reaching the legendary will increase.
After looking at the history of posts made by Op, Op's chances of reaching Legendary are less than 0.5%. I didn't find anything of value there, almost all of them were filled with useless posters.

Without the will to develop, it is difficult to reach a higher rank. The first thing Op has to do is leave his shitposter habit to become a quality poster. There are many ways that can be done to achieve the goal, but all of them need a process.
I joined long time back on 2017. still member. i am really ashamed about it.I want to increase to legendary. please help what should i do?
My account was also created in 2017, a little later than yours, and I had breaks when I didn't go to the forum. You have nothing to be ashamed of the fact that your rank is still Member and I know your desire to get Legendary rank. I can only help with advice, but you will have to go a long way to legendary rank yourself if you keep the desire and patience for this. In my opinion, you should try to be useful to the bitcoin community, share information and help other forum members. To get something, you must first give something. And I can also recommend not to chase the ranks, but to treat this as a kind of pleasant bonus. Enjoy the process of your progress and absorb the information that is useful to you.

I have gone through your each posts. now i know what is the reason behind the ranking up. i have to use constructive comments and useful knowledge to share.

Can you stop writing one liners ?

What are the chances that the OP has read at least one post in this thread? I think that the probability is very small or none and that this topic was created only to try to get some merit - while at the same time continuing with classic shitposting. I wouldn't even have a problem if he did that because it's easy to report such posts, but the problem is with all those who support him in one way or another - for such people there is only one way to change, and that is the harder one.
There is zero chance that Op has read any of the suggestions given him on this thread. The thread has spanned to the second page and I have checked carefully there is no single reply from Op or any kind of engagement by him. It is so obvious that he made the post for frivolity or to fish for merits as you said.
But he is well disappointed because the kind of topic he raised is not the type that attracts merit and his post history is purely shit as he has refused to improve.

Yeah, what do we have here ?! Well well well, I'm I seeing yet another shitty-head head garbage poster, asking why he's not been merited over 5 years of being a member??
Mannnn, cut that up !!! How would you expect something unpresidented and precious -- as precious as the merit system as well -- to be built on bureaucracy and made unleveled to the point that YOU, can have a good share right? Huh?

Like, just look at the so-called post you made -- also alot more on your post history -- that doesn't even makes requal sense. It's up to you whether or not, you'll decide to change for the better?! All yours

didn't you correct yourself before asking some questions regarding your account rank? you need to look far back, that the quality of the posts you make is still not good. You may be active, but you only provide questions and answers in a few lines, without any meaningful questions and answers. You're old enough to be in this forum, you have to upgrade if you want to rank up, because it's not easy at this point. Look in some threads about how to get Merit, it will help you. and you have to start now.

You have made 1300 posts till now and when you check your post history it looks like one line sentence all over the pages and that also on spam board's and bounties report so what do you expect from yourself? There are hardly any post which can be even 100 characters long and this is not how one ranks up on forum as others have said to you already.

If you are seriously interested in ranking up enhance your knowledge first of all and give time to yourself reading all the good post and then actively replying to the post with time you will see results.

Once you've buried yourself deep in that swamp, even with the best of intentions, it's not easy to pull yourself up to the surface. Everything that the OP has tried recently outside Altcoins boards can be categorized as low-value content without any hesitation.
When you go through altcoin board you will see people spamming over there with all the nonsense stuff which could blow off your mind. The people posting there to complete the signature campaign requirements know they can write whatever shit they want there and many have covered themselves in that zone only so you are right on the part but if someone start gaining knowledge about bitcoin stuff they would automatically move to some general and useful boards.

Even if someone gave you a Legendary rank, it wouldn't mean anything because you're still a beginner in your head. All Legendary members were also beginners at one point and invested a lot of time, and in the last few years, a lot of effort to become what you want now. My advice is to start from the beginning, start reading the forum, don't open meaningless topics and ask questions that already have answers. To begin with, concentrate on how you will reach the next step (Full member).
The rank is not a determinant factor on how much knowledge you have but only merits in the forum perspective stands out on this thing.Like there are some legendary members also from who have not earned any merit till date so they have rank but not knowledge so don't be like them if you want to be legendary.

You should not be ashamed about being a member rank here in this forum. Remember, this forum was not made for anyone desiring to be in a race but it is the journey and the knowledge that you gather that makes this forum very essential to everyone.

Personally, try to change your mindset on ranking-up. Instead, focus more on learning and contributing to the forum as a whole. When you have this kind of mindset, forum ranks will be the by-product of the efforts you put in posting.

You have to be useful to the community to earn a high rank on this forum, I think it's obvious. It's not enough to just ask questions, you need to give value in your posts. If you have a lot of experience in investing in cryptocurrencies or have significant successes, share it. It'll be interesting for me to read about it too.

Try to explore on different section then contribute quality context to the other forum members here since if you just stay on altcoin section which for sure many reputable members doesn't really like to give merit due to rampant spams then it will not help you to rank up.  Try to give something more cooler ideas or open create a helpful post/thread which can catch people interest since provably it can help you to get some merits.

You have been here since 2017 and you haven't complained of not ranking up, which means you have been comfortable with what you were doing, either monitoring or promoting altcoins, bounty hunting or anything else. But since you wish to rank up, can you please pay attention to your posts?
Can you stop writing one liners ?
Even if you post in boards that least attract merit sources, but these guys have thread dedicated to helping users and they will be more wiling to help an old era low rank member.
The Pharmacist has a thread for merit review;
Fillippone has a thread for merit review;
Ratimov has a thread for merit review;
And more.

from the history of the posts you made and also the quality of the posts, I found your chance to reach the legendary is only 0.5%

All the OP's latest posts this year are now open topics.
OP, what makes you think that opening a topic with one-line questions will receive recognition from the members of the forum and that you will receive merits? This is the wrong tactic. All topics are open for only one purpose, and today's new open topic here is desperation. Do you really not see all the reasons? You didn't get any merit. Isn't that a reason to reconsider your actions? Take a stroll through the forum and compare the open threads that deserve a lot of credit. At least one such topic is similar to yours?
Turn on your brain; otherwise, five more years will pass with this approach, and you will all write and apologize for your laziness.

It's one thing to wish for something, and another to act on it. I also wish to join the legendary rank bit if there's anything I've gotten here is for such a rank to be achieved, you don't have to be inactive as @DdmrDdmr observed but push by constantly posting quality and merit worthy posts and participating and I bet you, your dream won't be far from being achieved.

For the beginning, start posting outside of altcoin section because from what i can see, 90% of your posts were made there.

Once you've buried yourself deep in that swamp, even with the best of intentions, it's not easy to pull yourself up to the surface. Everything that the OP has tried recently outside Altcoins boards can be categorized as low-value content without any hesitation.

I want to increase to legendary.

Without even taking a look at your post history and just looking at your Activity:merit ratio, safe to assume that you just need to significantly ratchet up your post quality. 99% of the time, people who complain about not receiving merits simply just have substandard post quality.
doubt.jpg
I saw users don't receive merits like the others just because they ain't parroting what other bitcointalk users want to hear aka not being a 'yes man'. They actually put their thought into their post compared to users that only post to meet their quota on their sign campaign, parrot on what other people in here want to hear.

Post quality isn't decided by merits alone cause you know how some opinions might not popular hence the lack of merits. This also created an illusion that merits always equals to good-quality posts. Heck, might give you a fresh example (below) to show you about a user with a good amount of merits doesn't mean they've good post quality. aylabadia05 has 313 merits, mind you.

Yesterday I said about 3 important points that must be obtained by both teams. Arsenal to shift Manchester City in 1st position and maintain the opportunity to win the trophy, while Liverpool to return to compete in the top four.
I dare say Arsenal will win against Liverpool by a narrow score.
Liverpool have tried their best to achieve a draw, but because of a penalty incident, Liverpool lost points.
Come on dude, at least put effort into your post. Not WILL. The match is over. Arsenal won 3-2 against Liverpool. And no, Liverpool will not back to the top 4 in the Premier League. Yes, the season hasn't ended yet, the race is still ongoing but they had a lot of problems with their lineup and strategy. See people in here starting to talk about Klopp's chance to stay at Liverpool before the season end?

For the beginning, start posting outside of altcoin section because from what i can see, 90% of your posts were made there. Another thing, stop with those mindless one-liners as even if you start posting in other section where there's a lot of merit, you want get far with that approach.

Forget about signature campaigns and weekly quota, simply start communicating with others (which you haven't been doing in 5 years since you joined this forum) and post only when you actually have to say something and merit will come, and therefore higher ranks. By the way, you wouldn't be the first altcoin bounty hunter managed to change and who became an asset to this forum, so there is a chance for you as well.

Nearly 2 years inactive and many of your posts that are also not involved in the quality discussion make you difficult to get merit.
Improve the quality of posts, there are several veterans member who are ready to review posts and you will get merit if it is feasible.

We can't help without a strong effort that pushes you to reach Legendary. The Merit system is implemented in the forum with the aim that every user who has the desire to achieve a higher rank can make quality, constructive and informative posts.
You need to underline, Merit is not a barrier for you to rank up. Lots of users have proven that Merit isn't hard to get, they've reached the highest rank in the forum quickly.

As a first step, you must leave the old habit (shitposter) to become a quality poster to get the attention of Merit Sources and generous Contributors on the forum so as not to downplay your posts. There are 110 merit sources with a total merit generation of up to 33989 sMerit per 30 days which have been selected to help anyone to immediately enjoy a new rank.

The decision is yours, want to change or not.

If it's just a matter of shame, it shouldn't have to be. I imagine that in reality the OP wants to make money with signature campaigns, but if not, there is nothing to be ashamed of. This is a forum and if he posts in the sections he does and in the way he does to pass the time there is nothing wrong. His posts don't have much merit, yes, but a lot of the traffic on forums is a form of entertainment without much effort or merit in what is written.

Its not too late. Changes your style or improved your post. I am a bounty hunter and most of my post are links from social campaign and I realize I wouldnt advance if I continue it so I focus on more posting and contributing. Checked my profile and registered almost the same time as you. Yes its reallly need effort to get to something you wanted. But if perseverance is there it will be easy. You just need to give time on doing it. Good luck OP, it will never be too late for anyone.

First this post should not be public, in my opinion this post should be something you make within you and aspire to achieve it, it shouldn't surprise you that you haven't ranked up yet, just check out your post history.
2017-2022 is over five years definitely enough time for you to have made good progress.

Well there are many legendary members that started off poorly but later on made progress in the form. I have had a conversation with some of them personally, and I have learnt a lot from them, so I think it's not up to you actually put in the work and let's see where you end up at the end of the year.

Haha this is funny and mixed with nostalgic. I could even see that you have been away for sometime from the forum. Not being active is one major effect of it as the reason you are still where you are. Your activities is still far to show you how you have been inactive. If my calculation is correct you are suppose to be in senior member by default at the time the merit system started if you had enough activities by that time. The solution now is that you have to start making meaningful contribution to the forum but sorry unfortunately at this time that merit are not got on a platter of Gold, you will have to be a super knowledgeable writer to achieve what you desire now unlike in the beginning when merit giving wasn't a big deal and some of us still didn't realize it then because we also desire to rank up from where we are. But do your best at least you can get somewhere if you are ready to do some serious content work.

Earning 1000 merits is not an easy feat, but you don't have to focus on attaining the rank more than doing what the forum was built for, which if for bitcoin talks, if you had talked about bitcoin with other members from 2017 till date, you may not be legendary now, or you may, but surely you will be earning merits and increasing in knowledge and ranks too.

Many members won't get to legendary, either because they are shitposters, not good enough, they don't care or they are unlucky with merits, if you want to be any, it is better to be unlucky with merits because if you make great posts and nobody is seeing it, a time will come when you'll be noticed and merits will be given to both new and old posts and you may climb up the ranks very fast. That is why it is always worth concentrating on the content you bring to the forum, rather that the merits you are recieving at that present time.

You've to make it a matter of necessity to become active here if you were to start ranking up. Nobody feeds a dead horse. I checked your post history and found out that there's a lacuna somewhere there. Such gap could've cost you some merits. Again, make your posts to be constructive and contributory to discussions. If I would indulge you, kindly desist from one liner posts also.

Regardless, going over your posting history the boards you’ve been posting on heavily are not precisely Merit-era Legendary makers (Altcoin Discussion, Bounties, Altcoin Speculation for example).
Though you are right that very small portion of merit are poured in there, you have to have agreed that the quality of the aforementioned boards are way more below than average quality. I have read those boards when I was looking for diversifying my crypto investment; I did and realized you must not go with shits, LOL.
Most of the signature spammers post their to fulfill their weekly quota & that's it. I have hardly seen a good quality post in altcoin discussion. IIRC, I have enjoyed reading an article from tk808 (can be someone else either) regarding monopoly of Binance. I can't remember if I ever enjoyed the board that much.

You don't have to be ashamed of something that can be changed by your volition to the forum. What to do is very simple, make quality thread and response. And it won't take so much time to reach the legendary level all you need is merit to hit there time is not against you. Unlike some members with lots of merits that could have qualified them to legendary but their activity count is holding them back. You see they is nothing to be ashamed of, merit is holding you back and you just need to get them through active participation. Cheers.

If someone needs to ask how to become a Legendary after being on the forum for years, likely the Rank is going to be a distant feat  …

Regardless, going over your posting history the boards you’ve been posting on heavily are not precisely Merit-era Legendary makers (Altcoin Discussion, Bounties, Altcoin Speculation for example). The same webpage shows on the bottom chart that you’re barely active, which is therefore playing against any chances of earning Merits.

You could check out what the 217 accounts that have reached the Legendary rank so far under the Merit System have posted, to get an idea. I can’t think of a better way to gain insights on how they did it (starting-off at different Rank levels). Likely, common factors will include time dedication, consistency/persistence (in terms of posting), and content that is generally interesting and with some degree of depth.
