everyone is entitled with their own perspective with regards to the status of bitcoin last year.
as for me i am very thankful on the events that took placed since i earned a lot during the run.
but if we will look to broader perspective i guess there is also a negative effect to what happened last year.
it will be more beneficial to more cryptocurrency investors and would-be investors if the incline is not that steep.
yes, there are those who gained a lot last year but we can also be sure that a lot of people also lose a lot.
especially the newcomers.

Creator of dogecoin... All he did is copy paste bitcoin change algo, block time and number of coin issued.

Wow much skills. Amazing tech. Such shitcoin.

Hey it worked.

define "worked"!

a useless token that is only traded, in other words pumped and dumped? yeah sure. it worked perfectly well. you know what else worked? about 1000 other altcoins.
go here https://coinmarketcap.com/all/views/all/ and play around with the table to see the volumes and price changes of different coins.
for example PACcoin has gone up 800% in the past 7 days and it is not even 1 satoshi yet.

The only reason why doge is getting pumped because of the chinese people who believes in feng shui is getting his coin for their good fortune, nothing else this doge founder is probably a moron his coin is dead a long time ago theres no team behind it,no active development!

In views of subject creator base on dogecoin, that 2017 was the worst year ever for Bitcoin are fully rumors, they are eventually twist the story and the evidence on graph where the bitcoin are tremendously spike the highest value. Even though many speculation in a year 2017 that bitcoin is big bubble but it never distract the reputation of bitcoin into it value.

I am a baby to cryptocurrency~
This is the year of Dog, so the DogeCoin will rise for sure. It did and will continue.
However, 2017 is one of the best year for Bitcoin.
Look what he had done? Nothing. The tech, the usage is outdated.

Well I for one, made a killing in BTC this year... but I get your point. Speculation does not push the ball forward in meaningful ways.

http://coloringcrypto.com/index.php/2018/01/07/18-jackson-palmer-of-dogecoin-explains-how-2017-was-a-bad-year-for-bitcoin/

Finding a voice of reason amidst the flurry of hype in this space is rare, and I'm grateful for Jackson's humility, wisdom and effort to bring clarity to the picture we are painting of the blockchain.

Today's guest, illuminating the blockchain, is Jackson Palmer, who in 2013, created Dogecoin. Created partly as satire, it's valued in total at over 1 billion dollars today. We are going to tell the origin story of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dogecoin">Dogecoin in a future episode, but today we tap Jackson's rare insight, starting with his take on the last year in crypto, and how in terms of crypto as an investment, it may have been great but in terms of proving the purpose of crypto as a currency may have actually been a bad year.

It's ironic in a way that a coin made as joke may actually prove to have more integrity and more utility than most of the coins created this last year.
