The ETFs quoted in the article are very niche ETFs and have limited exposure to Bitcoin. ARK Innovation ETF and ARK Next Generation Internet ETF both focus on a wide horizon and bitcoin is just one of the investments of these ETFs. Things are slowly changing now, and we could have a mainstream ETF whose primary exposure is to Bitcoin. Imagine if we had such an ETF in 2017!

It is unsurprising that the best performing once included bitcoin. After all, Bitcoin had a growth unlike any other asset out in the market over the past year of many times its initial value. Over the next year, I expect something similar to happen with different cryptocurrencies, not just Bitcoin. For example, there is the Hold 10 ETF that holds that top 10 cryptocurrencies by market cap. That would have already been extremely profitable by this point, albeit only to those who can actually afford to be a part of it. It is logical that Bitcoin, having opened the gates to most people who are now into the cryptocurrency world, would allow other cryptos to prosper as well. This upcoming year should make that evident.
