This is quite alarming as it lasted two days but fortunately went back normal.Im not a Kraken user but I suggest it should be communicated well to the customers so they would be aware especially if it involves big amount of money.Let's just hope for the better.

This is what they are sending to their customers ''We apologize for the uncertainty our downtime has caused. The scheduled downtime was to replace our old trading engine with a brand new trading engine – an improvement that customers have long asked for and that we have long been working hard on''

I am not a Kraken trader, so I am very interested to hear from those who actively use Kraken to trade if there has actually been an improvement noticed. If there is, and Kraken manages to keep its trading engine running smoothly and that consistently regardless of how heavy the actual usage is, then it can be seen as great step forward. If not much turns out to have changed, I think people who are actively trading should start looking for alternative exchanges, because there is nothing more frustrating than an exchange not delivering at peak moments. If you miss out on great money making opportunities due to the incompetence of an exchange, oh boy, that's bad, very bad. Let's hope they have indeed gone forward.

People started to think they were hacked due to the delay after delay after delay they were not coming up with any solutions.
Now 5 days later they resume business..
as if nothing had happened. Undecided
No explanation for the major delays for all their customer based clients accounts? Lips sealed

That's how the exchange explains the delay:
"Thank you for your continued patience while we work through these unexpected and delicate issues. We are continuing to make progress but don't have a specific timeline for relaunch at the moment."

Kraken, one of the largest cryptocurrency exchange, has resumed service after scheduled maintenance that was supposed to take two hours but instead took two days.

The exchange went offline at 9 p.m. Pacific Time on Wednesday for maintenance that was initially scheduled to last two hours, plus an additional two to three hours for withdrawals.

Kraken mentioned it’s working on “unexpected and delicate issues” and assured clients their funds were secure, adding that “Yes, this is our new record for downtime since we launched in 2013. No, we’re not proud of it.”

With their return online, Kraken announced that unleveraged trading is free until the end of the month. The site has been functioning normally since going online, but trading was paused for several hours due to problems displaying order book data that have since been resolved.
