Yeah, because when investors are looking at new projects to put money into, the first place they look is Snapchat.   Roll Eyes

I'd be very curious to know if they're going to directly block users from touting their own and other ICOs and stuff. There are people on there with legions of zombie followers who might take the plunge if they announced some piece of shit token and I presume that would count as content rather than advertising as it stands now.

I wouldn't underestimate the amount of mindlessness out there. These bans wouldn't be happening if they weren't being clicked on with a vengeance.

Isn't Snapchat the stupid chat that adds filters and adds ears of dogs, nose of cats and shits like that to your photos. If they are being clicked on with a vengeance we learn that we have a lot of female users in the bitcoin ecosystem. Snapchat is mainly used by females in order to enchance their photos. I rarely see males using Snapchat.

Great news. At this rate, soon the most popular platform in the world will be our forum. Those users who receive income from bounty will be very happy. All users will be the first to receive all news about new projects and we will always have the advantage of being the first to participate in promising projects.

Does anyone actually care?  I can't tell if this is just Snapchat trying to stay relevant and jumping on a bandwagon to grab a few headlines, or if it's just to cover themselves legally to ensure they don't inadvertently advertise a scam.  Personally, if I saw an ad on Snapchat for an ICO, I would take that as a sign that I definitely don't want to invest in it.  That applies to social media in general, actually.  Maybe I'm just old-fashioned like that.  Give me a whitepaper or technical summary over shameless marketing to the lowest common denominator any day.

Snapchat, one of the giants of social networks, joined the list of companies that banned the advertising of cryptocurrency and initial offers of coins (ICO).

Cheddar said that Snap Inc limited its advertising to cryptocurrency in February, while the company did not prohibit the use of tokens to pay for services.

On March 19, the company officially confirmed that advertising of tokens and ICO is prohibited in the company’s products. At the same time, the representative of the company did not comment on the possibility of banning any other activities related to cryptocurrencies.
