This doesn't look like bad news or FUD to me. There have been reports bad people using malicious means to force other people's computer to mine without them knowing. Some people are not that tech oriented and always fall victims by installing these extensions unknowingly. So this is a welcome move to me by Google.

After Facebook and Google announcement of regulation about cryptocurrency it is given that the next policy would be released continuously. I don’t know if this make any changes in our mindset (long term holder), but it surely shake the newbies into panic.

Why should it? It just means that Google's Chrome Store won't be allowing any listings of these extensions, and that's it. No one will prevent you from installing these extensions outside the Chrome Store, so it won't mean anything, aside from the fact that Google is now putting itself in a safer position legally. In other words, if you want to continue browser mining with Chrome, you still can, and will always be able to do so. Also, Google's Chrome Store still allows other crypto related Chrome extensions, so once again, people make too much of a problem out of nothing. Reading the article helps, and looking for other sources reporting about the same subject as well. If all people do that, this market would be a whole lot more stable overall.

The ban is in line with their current policy of seemingly distancing themselves from crypto and the can of legal worms it may open should things go south. Unless crypto's start it's own house cleaning, established social media platforms may shy away from it.

First crypto ads, now crypto mining.

American multinational technology company Google has announced plans to have all cryptocurrency mining extensions on Chrome removed by June 2018.

The written statement released on 2 April cites the reasoning for this action as non-compliance from developers with Google's service standards. The statement notes a recent rise in ''malicious extensions'' that appear functional but run unauthorized cryptocurrency mining scripts unbeknown to the user.
