This action from the Spanish authorities might look like it has good intent to monitor accounts with criminal activities and avenue to collect more tax revenue for the government but it will expose information concerning crypto traders to the government. I guess the battle for privacy and anonymity is going to be a tough one for Spanish crypto enthusiasts.

This isn't something to be afraid of by the way. Tax authorities frequently do this in every country, it's basically their job. Crypto might be in the news now but they probably make up 1% of less (I'm just speculating). I have a family member who works with tax related agencies and they literally do this every day for hundreds of accounts. And that's just in a smaller country perhaps with not as much tax exertion as Spain.

Spanish tax authorities have sent requests for information on cryptocurrency investors to over 60 companies, a source at the country's tax agency confirmed to CoinDesk following reports in local media.
