Why do the super rich care so much about bitcoin to the point of coming out
and making all sorts of statements. They are so rich it doesnt matter what
bitcoin does?

They are not going to sway our thinking but i suppose they might create
doubt in people who have not yet got into bitcoin.

Bill Gates and Warren Buffett are friends. Not surprisingly, they are equally negative about bitcoin. Surely he does not like the speculation around Bitcoin. I'm sure he's not against blockchain.

I just watched a video where Warren Buffett said that if someone criticizes your investment and you get upset about it, then you're gambling. On top of that he also said that if you like what you own, and thus see value in it, what difference would someone else's opinion make? I think thus far this is the only thing he said that has a certain form of value. It perfectly applies to everyone here going nuts on these individuals when they talk trash about Bitcoin. The best thing in this case is to let them talk trash like they have been doing for years, and let Bitcoin talk in terms of progress -- there is no better form of revenge on all this trash talk....

It's important to understand that all these traditional farts aren't looking for camera attention to speak out about Bitcoin. It's just them during an interview getting asked questions about Bitcoin, which I am sure is done so on purpose to create spicy content. Bill doesn't care one single bit about Bitcoin, and I can perfectly understand it from his perspective.

- He doesn't need the wealth.
- He will never run out of wealth.
- Financial freedom is something he already enjoys.
- He is perfectly fine with the current system and everything around it.

In other words, there is nothing of significance he likes to change that we think Bitcoin is capable of changing.

If you on purposely ask someone what he thinks about something he doesn't know much about fundementally, and don't even bother to do research on, you as interviewer know that he will just answer it for the sake of answering a question. I no longer care about what is being said by these high level individuals. It's their unsalted opinion concerning something they don't know much about, and don't even care about.

I am not sure if Bill Gates was always anti - bitcoin. I remember that in the early days he had made statements in support of Bitcoin, although he did have reservations about its pseudonymous nature. If you are sure of its downfall (in terms of price) there always is the opportunity to short Bitcoin through Bitcoin futures.

I do think we don't need to take his opinion seriously for one he is not even a financial investor unlike Warren Buffet, also its a very short comment on Bitcoin which I think is pretty neutral to me. And if he accepted the challenge we will be the ones suffering the consequences of his action, which a lot of us will not like. Tyler is pretty protective to his beloved Bitcoin and he doesn't need to be offended from that kind of comment.

Bill Gates does not manage his own money, so he has no clue about financial instruments. If he really wanted to do that, he would have given instructions to his financial experts to do that and not act clueless, like he did. I think, he dropped a little bomb to see if his followers will risk their money to do that.

He has a lot of money to waste on stunts like this, but I never thought that he was the kind of guy that would play mind games like this. You do not have to manipulate people like this, to prove a point. The super rich people, using their money to talk for them.

As a response to the critique from the all-time billionaire, Bill Gate against Bitcoin, Winklevoss, the founder of Gemini, a crypto exchange, challenges Bill Gate to go ahead with his pursuit to shorten bitcoin.

He said,
Quote
There is an easy way to short bitcoin. You can short #XTB, the CBOE Bitcoin Futures contract, and put your money where your mouth is.

It's quite absurd how Bill Gate could not figure out the services (secured payment method, high transaction speed, owner control over transactions) bitcoin provides and went ahead to qualify bitcoin as an asset class which is producing nothing.
