Governments and banks are sending mixed signals about cryptocurrency, some praise it and even try to adopt it, other are carefully waiting, some say that it's still immature, and some just bash it. It's also different from country to country, with some countries have already banned cryptocurrencies. I think banks tend to be more hostile because it directly threatens their business, while other institutions don't feel that way. If all of them really wanted to go to war against crypto, it would be globally banned and this forum would be in the deepweb. We're still far from real war, and maybe it will never happen.

If they wanted to make a war they would have declared such war and if the banks were all united then why some banks are accepting
the exchanges? for example the case of Malta, has binance and other exchange that are moving to malta, malta is a country and has banks. So why are the malta banks accepting the exchange if MC said there is war? it was expected that each country would take a different position from the others and each central bank has its vision different from the other

John McAfee probably meets the postman with assault rifles unlatched and believes Mexican cartels are hiding in his garden and eating cheese.

If you guffed on his hostess trolley he'd take that as a declaration of war.

There's an eternal war on against everyone and everything that doesn't align with vested interest. Figure that and plan accordingly. In this aspect crypto's nothing special.

The statement has some truth it although we will never know if there is coordinated movement among these institutions.
I think it is obvious that block chain is the cheapest and fastest way to move funds around the globe compered to banking system, thus there is and will be resistance.

I think McAfee needs something shocking to say, so he says. Much exaggerated-war. No, just adapting to new realities, Yes, but not war. Adaptation is also not always smooth.

John McAfee is right. Banks actually rallied against the cryptocurrencies. They do not need decentralization. They want to keep the cryptocurrencies market under control. Having a lot of money, it is quite possible for them.

What is he trying to do? Cryptocurrency Traders turning against our own government because of all the regulations they are giving us? Honestly I don't see it as a war, no violence involve but only crimes being committed because of a market with less rules compared to other markets such as the stock exchange or even the foreign exchanges. He is maybe changing progress from "war". Soon he might even give an statement that this current bear market is cause by the government and their central banks.

McAfee must be worried about his $1 million prediction going wrong. Individual banks may be imposing restrictions on cryptocurrencies, but that has nothing to do with fear of cryptocurrencies. They are just afraid of money launderers using their services and regulators imposing huge fines. They are playing safe.

On the latest episode of “John McAfee Says,” the tech activist and internet security expert declared that there is an ongoing war against cryptocurrencies.

‘It is, in fact, a war’

He aired this revelation in a video posted on his Twitter on May 27. According to McAfee, powerful forces are trying to derail the progress of the cryptocurrency revolution. McAfee began by unequivocally stating the reality of the ongoing fight:

"Whether you know it as a war [against crypto] or not, it is, in fact, a war."

He listed the government, banks, credit card companies, and the SEC as some of the “enemy combatants.” These institutions have banded together to quell the relentless march of progress represented by the crypto renaissance.

McAfee’s warnings may have merit as many banks and credit card companies have recently started withdrawing support for cryptocurrency payments. While governments and regulatory bodies like the SEC are also trying to “abscond with cryptos as securities.”
