Lol.

They just as welll would have used other means of funding, crypto was possibly the easiest but in no way it would be blamed.
This is just news using 2 how keywords, BTC+hack on elections, going for the clicks as always.

If we start blaming cash for being used to cover tracks of various criminals we'll end up convicting fiat money. It's the same thing as blaming cars for all the accidents on the roads and blaming guns for all the lethal shootings. Everyone with IQ higher than 50 can see that they're trying to find a scapegoat and turn the public eye from their own faults.
-oh, look Russians got paid in cryptocurrency! Cryptocurrency is bad!
Ok, fine, Pablo Escobar was paid in USD, USD is bad... Btw, guess what currency is used by Muslim terrorists Tongue

STOP SNITCHIN'
Congressman Emanuel Cleaver II wasted no time in castigating the “crypto industry” for its role in the DNC hack. The fact that Russians had apparently used bitcoin to cover their tracks was of more concern than the numerous other failings that the indictment revealed, like the inability of Democrats to detect basic phishing attempts, or of DNC admins to detect the X-Agent malware that was installed. No, the biggest takeaway from all this was that bitcoin had facilitated one of the gravest nation state-orchestrated crimes in years.

This reminds me of the Congressional calls to ban Bitcoin back in 2013 because of it association with the Silk Road. What better boogeyman could there be than the evil freedom-hating Russians? Tongue

Never mind that the DNC's information security apparatus was completely pathetic, and that it had high-level employees getting phished... sure, that's all Bitcoin's fault. Roll Eyes

When the indictment of Russian intelligence officers for interfering with the US election broke, the recriminations were swift. Not only had the 12 allegedly hacked the Democratic National Committee, but they’d had the temerity to do so using servers paid with cryptocurrency. When politicians and mainstream media began finger pointing, they had only one culprit to blame – bitcoin.

To accuse Bitcoin of interfering in the election of the US President, this must be very much wanted. In my opinion, the Internet can be made more guilty here than bitcoin. There would be no crypto currency, as before, offshore zones or cash transfers would be used. Bitcoin is just a tool in the hands of a person. It's vseravno that blame the bullet that killed a man.
