Leave no FUD unchallenged
I'm smelling a lot of "if" coming off this article.

If someone has proven the hypothesis, then
If someone uses that understanding to exploit the general principles of encryption, then
If no one finds a way to prevent that exploit, then
If someone actually uses it to attack Bitcoin...

Then we would have a problem.  And so would every government, military, bank, business and individual in the developed world, for that matter.  Because everything relies on encryption these days.  But let's take it one step at a time.  If we should be concerned by this, then it's a pretty small concern for the moment.

Riemann Hypothesis May be Proved on September 24, and its Impact on Crypto May be Huge

24th of September may go down in the history of crypto as a very important day. Do you know why? Because that day a British-Lebanese mathematician named Sir Michael Atiyah is going to provide a “simple proof” of a million-dollar problem that can have far-reaching implications for modern-day cryptography. What is that problem, you may be wondering. Well, it’s called the Riemann hypothesis. The hypothesis is unproven till date since 1859, and it’s one of those problems which have a million dollar prize declared for the solver by Clay Mathematics Institute. And here we’re going to explain it for you.
